I am pretty sure I was able to use Adaptive Triggers for Dualsense using bluetooth when playing Arknights Endfield.
Xarishark@reddit
I use this. I idea where the 20 dollars comes from I went and bough 2 picos and cables for 15 eur just to have a second one. It’s literally drag and drop the fw file and then you just plug it back in and it is already searching for the controller. It’s perfect. Also it’s very an active in dev so I bet may things will come as time moves on!
Someone needs to make a 3 printed PS5 themed case for the pico.
nosurprisespls@reddit
Do you know what the dse version of the uf2 file is?
Xarishark@reddit
It’s the edge controller not the normal one

thanks!

Adaptive triggers only work in some games via Bluetooth.
NapsterKnowHow@reddit
Luckily way better support than the rumble triggers on the Xbox series controller

detectiveDollar@reddit
Odd how Halo Infinite isn't on that list.
NapsterKnowHow@reddit
Agreed
-WingsForLife-@reddit
Yeah but if you want both haptics and triggers you need to do it wired.
NapsterKnowHow@reddit
Which makes sense for Dualsense Edge because the battery life is so bad lol
Rusted_Metal@reddit
I just use DSX from Steam.
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
DSX doesn't do what this dongle does. Not yet, at least.
Rusted_Metal@reddit
I am using DSX with the additional DLC that gives DualSense support. I get controller audio, haptics and adaptive triggers all through wireless connection. In addition to this, I can quickly change emulation mode to Xbox and DualShock (PS4). Some games don't support PS5 but I can still use the controller by switching emulation mode.
What does this dongle do that I didn't describe above? I would be interested in this dongle too but not sure if there's any additional benefit from what I am already using.
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
DSX doesn't have the virtual dualsense yet which is what is needed to get actual haptic feedback support as it is in games. As it is right now, it only has a few gimmick modes but not actual support for haptic feedback from games. https://i.imgur.com/03aWk9C.png
This dongle fixes those issues by making Windows think your dualsense is wired, it's available now and doesn't require a paid software+paid dlc software that has DRM.
Rusted_Metal@reddit
Check this DSX+ DLC. It provides what you're talking about. DSX+ (Virtual DualSense, BT Audio/Haptics) DLC on Steam
I am using this and it is working well. I've played almost all PS5 games that are available on Steam and get full controller features as if I was connected using wired connection. You can try it out yourself and refund if it doesn't work for you. I feel like your comments are based on old news. My response is from actual experience in using the software.
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
I have the DLC. The virtual dualsense hasn't been added, that is coming in 3.2 and that is what is needed for haptic feedback support in games.
It literally says "Haptic feedback and audio passthrough from the virtual DualSense are currently in development and will arrive in a future update." on the store page lol.
PotatoLord_69@reddit
I’m in the closed beta and have haptics and adaptive triggers all working wirelessly.
Rusted_Metal@reddit
Same here. Maybe need to join beta even though main version is same? I also made sure I installed the pre-req software.
Just glad someone else is having experience as me. I got downvoted in some other comments. lol
PotatoLord_69@reddit
Yeah no idea why they’re downvoting you. Dsx is a good solution if someone doesn’t want to buy separate hardware or can’t be bothered for it since it works pretty easy. Either way for me I’m not too fussed since I’m getting the steam controller once it drops and not looking back haha
Rusted_Metal@reddit
Oh, switch over to using the beta version. You can do this in the properties of the software.
BTW, I did just ordered the Pico devices you linked to in another comment. I do want to give this a try. I'll be my first foray into Raspberry Pi devices. I like tinkering with stuff anyway.
But, I do think I will miss not having the emulation for Xbox and PS4 controllers that DSX+ supports. There are many games that just works better when you switch the emulation mode from PS5.
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
The beta is on 3.17 same as the main branch lol. https://i.imgur.com/tLdSUv2.png
That feature is just not in DSX yet. Paliverse (the main dev of DSX) himself has said that it will be in 3.2. https://i.imgur.com/n8hTF1n.png
You can still use DSX with this dongle, the dongle just makes the PC think that you are using a wired Dualsense.
Rusted_Metal@reddit
Ah yeah! Good point about still using the DSX for the emulation.
That's weird you're not able to get it working with DSX though. Do you have the DLC? You need that.
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
I think we are going in circles lol. I have the DLC, I've tried the beta, that feature isn't available yet. There is a closed beta for DSX 3.2 and maybe you're in the beta so you have access to the virtual dualsense mode, which is required for haptic feedback support from games.
I would just implore you to try the Pico 2 with this firmware and compare it to DSX 3.17 in something like Returnal and you will feel the massive difference.
Rusted_Metal@reddit
I have 3.1.7 beta. I just completed Returnal using this software. I did compare wired and wireless and both experiences felt the same.
But, yeah, I am also going to try out the Pico 2.
SeaSharpModHer@reddit
Am I seeing DLCs for a controller software?
People used to make this shit for free lmao.
Rusted_Metal@reddit
For someone that doesn't have either software or hardware to resolve the issue, then it probably makes more sense to go with the hardware solution. It'll be roughly same price either way though. I was coming from perspective of already using for the paid software.
Kotschcus_Domesticus@reddit
thats why need more age verification on playstation duh.
Rusted_Metal@reddit
Can a single Pico device support 2 controllers? If each controller requires a separate Pico, is there pairing for each ?
ThatOnePerson@reddit
My bet is 1 device because whatever they're doing is already overclocking the Pico 2.
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
I only have one Dualsense so I can't help with that question, sorry.
Jon_TWR@reddit
Ah yes, the classic reddit post -> article -> reddit post of the article of the original reddit post!
At least the article links the original post
AnthMosk@reddit
This? https://a.co/d/0cRF28Al
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
That is the exact one I purchased, it works perfectly.
TopCheddar27@reddit
Did you put it in any case?
CyraxxFavoriteStylus@reddit (OP)
Not yet, it has the pins soldered to it so I have to find a case that can account for that.
jnf005@reddit
If the pi is dedicated to this purpose, you can just desolder them, it's pretty easy, if you don't own a soldering iron, just snipping them off, is ok.

In before Sony invents a reason to sue.

Oh great, a Tom's Hardware link to Reddit, on reddit.
