is a palit 5080 any good? + general build advice/discussion

i recently saw a palit 5080 on sale for 1800AUD (1294 USD)
i am wondering, is palit any good or should i splurge the extra 100AUD for a Gigabyte card?
next,
i am also want to get a pc now right before cpu prices go up like RAM did. and then seeing a 5080 that cheap has made me debate going 300AUD extra over a 5070ti
i also looked at a 7900xtx (im not anti AMD, i did seriously look into them) and that is still on the table, but the lack of the newest features and any upscaling is definitely annoying.
i play Minecraft (heavily modded Java edition), the odd AAA game, fortnite and MSFS 2020/2024 (the main reason im splurging for a mid-high end gpu as my 3050 laptop gpu isnt happy being told to run that) I also want my investment to be good in 5+ years
i am aiming for around 3500AUD, max ceiling or 4000AUD
i also am going AM5 as AM4 is uneconomical in Australia, while id save with DDR4 RAM, the AM4 cpu would make uo the difference and at that point i should just go AM5 + DDR5
so is the palit 5080 worth it considering THAT price?

5070ti. focus on best CPU you can get in your budget. all the junk repetitive online games are CPU heavy. 1440p 240hz monitor. single player games now support multi frame generation it adds 20-50% more perfromance thanks to AI.

A 5080 performs like a 5080 no matter what brand or model. They're around 1-6% difference between the slowest and fastest model. Not work it imo.

as in the 5080 itself or the brand?

I wouldn’t pay 300 for only 13% more performance. In real world gaming that’s a negligible difference. Go for the 5070 Ti.

fair enough

I’d say it’s between the 5070 Ti and 9070 XT.
If it’s just for pure gaming and you don’t do any recording and you’re ok with a bit less upscaling quality then 9070 XT, because it’s cheaper than 5070 Ti and they trade blows in performance.
If you also record and you want better upscaling with DLSS and Ray Tracing, the 5070 Ti. Nvidia has better codecs for recording and although AMD FSR has got better over the years and closed the gap, DLSS is still superior.

thats pretty much what ive narrowed it down to
im stil torn as 5070ti has better ai features and upscaling but 9070xt is cheaper. im still torn for my use case
FatalGamer1@reddit
I think for your use case mainly Minecraft and the odd AAA game, save money and get the 9070 XT.

Palit one is likely to be better than gigabyte. XTX is not worth buying unless on a massive sale. 9070xt is generally more appealing than 5070ti with aussie prices on Nvidia (and I'd recommend staying from gigabyte 9070xt's even harder, but also don't overpay more than 50 for a different brand).

Personally I would say just get a 9070xt, it's better way than a 7900xtx when it comes to RT, and FSR4 is also worth considering (yes I know you can hack )
But regardless just get the cheapest version of the card you end up with, there will be no difference in performance (not outside of margin of error anyways)

thanks for the advice
