A fellow 1994! I turned the big 32 in January, it's not so bad 😄 have a great birthday!
Vetni@reddit
Thanks, the more important aspect is that my birthday is also Star Wars day, so I shall be forcing the fiancée to watch them!

Usual walk to the bakery tomorrow morning for my coffee and pastry, then just pottering about the garden. Unless it rains, then I'll be forced to actually do the tidying in my house I've been putting off.
HugsandHate@reddit
Birthday.
So probably nothing.
CurvePuzzleheaded361@reddit
Husbands off all next week so gardening, meals out a couple of times, drinks, shopping, trip to Edinburgh and lots of relaxing!!
Fluffypillowandwater@reddit
My toddler has a cold that he can't seem to shift and has gone completely off his food (teething related I'm sure) and my morning sickness has kicked in at the same time, so this weekends plans will be me trying to nap when and where possible and us survive on toast, cheese and crisps. Maybe a walk to feed the ducks.
His breakfast yesterday was a mini milk lolly. Mine was a mini cathedral city with a digestive. Whatever works at this point, I'll take.
BeardedTerminator@reddit
Set to complete today (FTB, has taken us two years from when we began searching) so moving in fully tomorrow then getting used to our new home and taking it all in!
BobIsBusy@reddit
Congrats!!
BeardedTerminator@reddit
Thank you, that nice of you.
Reality has hit now that we’ve started cleaning the place but I feel lucky and privileged to be able to say it.
Iamtir3dtoday@reddit

Bedrot, possibly kill myself if I can work up the motivation.

Please hold on, is there someone you can talk to? Anyone you can go to for advice? I promise you are loved!
CrumpetsAndTeaYipee@reddit
Well it’s my birthday tomorrow so I’m going to enjoy it with friends, on Sunday I’ll be travelling down to London for an overnight stay by Heathrow Airport then on Monday I fly out to Trento for the first time
TytoCwtch@reddit
I’m going to a dogs birthday party.
Typical_Arm_8008@reddit
Continue trying to survive on very little sleep with my toddler and newborn. 🥱🥴
Riqitch@reddit
Unrelated, but does anyone else feel some level of pressure to have plans every (long) weekend? Like my colleagues say that they're doing this and that, and I'm thinking to myself, "I'm gonna say that I have no plans because going gym and playing Fortnite isn't interesting in comparison to Dave who's going hiking"
GeoFogg@reddit
No, I just respond with 'not much' when asked about weekend plans, even if I'm abseiling down the Shard or something.
RandomHigh@reddit
Nope.
I'm single and in my 40s. I stopped giving a fuck what other people think about my hobbies a long time ago.
I'm visiting my niece's on Saturday. But on Sunday and Monday and doing absolutely fuck all except have a few beers and catch up on some games.
Theres3ofMe@reddit
Is right mate (speaking as a 45 yo). 👍
Accomplished-Reach-4@reddit
I do! I always feel like I haven’t made the most of the free time. My garden isn’t pretty so our time there isn’t share-able a sense. I feel unless what you’re doing is pretty enough for a picture (even if a picture isn’t shared) then it’s not a valid plan. So - going to a pretty beach is very valid as a plan for a long weekend. Playing with builders sand in our garden, not valid. Walking to the fridge - not valid. Walking to a mountain - valid.
Jcw28@reddit
Nope. I do what I like, and what I like is to stay inside all weekend playing my massive backlog of video games. I don't feel any pressure to go outside and do something 'productive' and I have no shame in having no 'proper' plans. Everyone has hobbies, mine just don't involve going outside or are not traditionally 'exciting'.
Youppi27@reddit
My plans are to spend as little money, whilst actually doing some basic stuff with the partner and dog.
The older you get, the less pressure you feel.
Relative-Tea3944@reddit
This is why I love the option to work and take the day at another time in the year
ParisLondon56@reddit
I used to, but now proudly exclaimed im cleaning, cuddling my cats, and maybe have a walk outside. Its not a competition once, you realise no-one really cares what you do.
CuriousTerm9710@reddit
Yep, all the time - most of my colleagues go on holidays 2x a year and most weekends go to concerts/ days out dinners etc. Every time they came back they are always speaking about their outings and when they asked what I did, I always say “nothing much”. We go out, but not extravagant- just nice walks and things like that. ( mostly free ) I like to stay at home playing games or knitting and people always say “ I couldn’t stay at home all the time that sounds so boring “.
onegirlandhergoat@reddit
Colleagues ask to make small talk, they don't really care. Just tell them you are having a quiet one. Or, you know, lie.
Me2309@reddit
I personally think your plans sound wayyyy better than hiking
Mazzerboi@reddit
Sounds like a good ol’ time to me
Ok_Introduction_1882@reddit
I work in hospitality so my plan was to have 3 days from hell starting tomorrow.
NecroVelcro@reddit
Cursing the bank holiday. I've got to go out tomorrow, when it's likely to be busier, rather than on Monday as no buses run on bank holidays where I live.
summerloco@reddit
Recover from burnout
smollgiraff@reddit (OP)
A valid way to spend the weekend tbf, hope you manage to relax and unwind!
summerloco@reddit
Thank you - hope you have a good weekend.
Viking-Bastard-XIV@reddit
Saturday I’ll be up the allotment, garden, watch some football, drink some alcohol free beer.
Sunday I’m having lunch with my daughter and her husband, sorting the garage, and dismantling the shed.
Monday I’ll do some allotmenting and bugger all.
OkTechnician4610@reddit
Depends on weather - I own a small car sales business so probably be there faffing round with the cars - might have someone coming to look at our mx5 so that needs a good clean & check over. If sunny will do stuff in the garden as well. Not going anywhere to expensive .
seanicusbaximus@reddit
Working
pixelunicorns@reddit
Didn't realise it was a bank holiday until today. Plan is to tackle more garden tasks, like sorting out an old bed, building a planter with a trellis, deweed the patio. I also need to practise my botanical identification skills as I have a test coming up, so I'll be walking over some local sites too.
Theres3ofMe@reddit
Fuck all.
But that's the way I want it!! 🤣🤣

Sunbathing tonight when I get home from.

Skatepark, funfair, dinner, film night, all with the missus and kids then get ready for an op in hospital Tuesday morning.

Sports social tomorrow morning, maybe watch the football after. Home in the arvo, quick tidy up and a chilled evening at home with OH who’s been away last couple of days. Fitness class Sunday morning, brunch with a friend, padel game in the evening. Monday OH and I are doing a day trip somewhere.
Sea_Pomegranate8229@reddit
Glad you reminded me. I'll be staying in. Do forget these dates since I gave up working.
bumford11@reddit
I've been sick all week, so I'm guessing laying in bed and feeling sorry for myself.
Equal-Competition930@reddit
I didnt get chance to see undertone for various reasons so planning to go see hokum and maybe the mummy one over weekend. I have sat, sun, mon off and wed this week so have plenty time to see both and really get time maybe that film about sheep which name slips my mind but look really funny. Also maybe watch some dvds. And just see how go. With my sleeping problems and some what irrationally lifestyle I just go with flow. But hopefully see least one film in cinema , do some shopping but stick to my budget I have planned to and watch least one dvd.
LiamJonsano@reddit
Was looking at washing my car but the weather looks spotty, other than that it’s wall to wall snooker

I'm heading to Brands Hatch race ciurcit in Kent to watch the GT car racing there on Sunday. I bought my ticket in advance and saved a few quid, but it's £40 on the gate and a full day of racing including an oportunity to meet the racers themselves, including former motogp legend turned car racer Valentino Rossi.
Me2309@reddit
We stayed in the mercure hotel next to there a few months ago. Avoid it like the plague- it is an absolute shit show of a hotel!

I’m going to Lego land with Sean Connery then going for a lovely lamb lunch in the center of Windsor

walkthelands@reddit
once again and as has been for the last 20 years, i was unaware it is a bank holiday, and have nothing planned.
John316-LIFE@reddit
Just surviving. My oldest will obviously be off school. My youngest is in the throes of potty training. And I’m pregnant. On the plus side, I have an extra 2 days of not setting an alarm to get up and do the school run.
continentaldreams@reddit
My husband is morris dancing this weekend at a folk festival. I plan to drink cider and cheer him on. And then I am meeting friends for lunch and antique shopping on Sunday. Oh and doing shrooms tonight with some other pals.
It's gonna be a great weekend.
flyingfresian@reddit
I don't get bank holidays off, so it's a bog-standard weekend for me. Haircut tomorrow, then being my partner's emotional support human while we watch our football team (Newcastle) being shit.
Luckily, lots of people I work with use annual leave for bank holidays, so Monday should be a quiet one.
Freckled_Scot982@reddit
I'm running art classes in my newly formed art cafe/studio.
shauneok@reddit
Working, should be going to a christening but hours changed. So I'll be spending the day overtaking caravans in my hgv.
wafflespuppy@reddit
I normally don't go anywhere on bank holidays as the traffic is ridiculous and every bugger is out. So cleaning, walking the dog, maybe doing my tax return, and out for a meal with my older sister tomorrow
cdh79@reddit
Work.
Because, no matter where I chose to go, theres 20000 arseholes in cars between me and there. And they are all sat in the middle lane of the M6.
I might as well go earn some coin.
lowercasejs@reddit
Daughter is down on Sat/Sun and then Monday is the Southern Premier South playoff final so a trip to Farnham awaits us

Meeting one of my friends tomorrow morning at the beach for a coffee, then on Sunday my eldest has one of her friends coming around. That’s the extent of it so far. I’m feeling over-stimulated by everything at the moment so my phones going off tomorrow until I go back to work on Tuesday

Good luck. Sounds like life is challenging for you right now. Sending hope your way.

Might take the time and paint the kitchen instead If I have time try build a raised border at the back of the garden but Ive never done anything like that before! Dont want to buy a prebuilt one as it seems to cost a lot more and I dont need the bottom anyway as will put directly on the soil!
