Hey guys. want to upgrade a GPU and i guess 9070 XT is best for the money, need a reccomendation which version to get. should i go for cheapest option (like AsRock Challenger for 719.99) does it have good cooling, should i look for what kind of chips it has or something? or maybe XFX Swift, I dont really want to go up to mid 700s or even 800

In my opinion the best manufacturers for the 9000 series is XFX, powercolor and sapphire.
But there aren't really any bad models. So going for the cheapest is the way to go if money is tight.
Here's a little video of 14 different models being tested and compared:

I easily second the XFX lineup.
I have ran XFX, Powercolor, Asrock, Gigabyte, and Sapphire cards for this generation and XFX wins hands down. Build quality on all three of their models are really second to none, closest would be Sapphire but like the other guy said you might have to run the 12vhpwr connector on the models that would be on par with anything XFX.
Gigabyte and Powercolor are perfectly adequate, but nothing mind blowing. I would have zero issues using either of those options.
Asrock is the budget option and truly feels like it. Nothing really wrong with that if the challenger is saving you some money, like when on sale at MC, but if it is the same price as other options it would be at the bottom of my list. I currently am using a Challenger 9070 and it is underwhelming compared to other options. If I hadn't scored it openbox at MC for $540 then its a pass for me.
It 100% comes down to where each tier of card is priced. If you can snag an XFX for the price of the other cards you are considering it easily wins for me, but if you can get an Asrock challenger for even $50 less I think that is worth the savings.

I have the Mercury OC and can definitely agree. And lucky as i was the XFX lineup was by far the cheapest when i was buying mine here in germany. The Hellhound would've been +100€ and the red devil and nitro+ +120€.
I would've gotten the swift or the quicksilver. But there was a sale on the mercury OC and it only cost 30€ more than the swift and the same as the quicksilver at the time

I build and sell systems pretty regularly, about 60 built in the last year or so. XFX firmly goes into the S tier of GPU brands for me. You name it, I have almost certainly tried it out. I have been meaning to get my hands on a Mercury card, thats one of the last models of the 5000 and 9000 series I haven't had a chance to work with hands on. If it really is just an upgraded Swift it would be wildly hard to go wrong with it.

I have the power colour hellhound Riva edition. No complaints from me. Plays everything I have tried without issue

its 810$ on amazon, XFX swift is 719

I've little doubt the xfx would be just as good. If you look on YouTube, hardware unboxed did a video of a Roundup of all the 9079xt's. Hope that helps.

Cheapest ones try to get xfx swift or sapphire pulse. Both use tpm7950 thermal paste, while asrock challenger (and gigabyte gaming) don’t.

I have the Asrock Challenger and it's great, good temps, no issues so far

Avoid gigabyte, they are using inadequate thermal interfaces and questionable fans this generation (only their high end Nvidia are well engineered). Everything else should be at least good to great, even cards with 12v high failure rate connector aren't bad (only the adapter they come with is, avoid them like plague if using an older psu without native cable). That asrock will do well.
