How long was y’all IFR training?

I finished private in 3 1/2 months and my instrument has been going for nine months now. Just waiting for checkride atm. Part of it is the weather, but I also feel like I was burnt out and slowed down. Just wondering how long IFR training was for y’all.

6 1/2 months total. Got it at 50.2 hrs XC PIC total.
1 month of vacation after private.
2 months flying 1-2 times a week while reading the IPH and IFH cover to cover (didn't memorize pilot's cafe but I tabbed the heck out of those 2 books).
3 months flying 2-3 times a week.
1-2 weeks checkride prep.

8 weeks accelerated. Blew major ass. 10/10 do not recommend

Started mid February, passed my check ride yesterday. So about 10 weeks. Flying 1-2 times per day most days per week. Also got my tailwheel during that time and took a week off to fly with a friend in another state. Took my written instrument test along with my IGI and FII during that time as well.

actual training only about 2 or 3 mos but real time 4 years, took the written twice

8ish months flying 1x/week.

So basically me 😂

No different here
Part 141 university program
Finished private over the summer after soloing in April.
Been doing instrument since September
Granted Ohio winter weather is awful and I've been bogged down by taking a heavy class load.
Looking to finish in the next 2 weeks once classes are over

Private took me 22 years; instrument took 2 months plus a couple weeks waiting for a checkride slot.

6 days of class. Total of 2 weeks at a fast track flight school for it.
The best imo way to get it quickly is using a simulator and flying it at 4x speed so that when you are in the real airplane it feels slow and relaxed.

Actual training was ~1.5 months since I took time off work to fly as much as I could schedule, then I spent the next 4 months waiting on a checkride. C'est la vie.

10 days

Mine took about a year, but that's primarily because I paid as I was going and ran out of money about halfway through.

I’m nine months into instrument because I can only train on weekends and have had bad luck with weather and snow covered runways. It’s just awful

I took my first instrument ground school (and passed the written) in 1985. I did another course (John and Martha) in 1994 or so. I finally did the PIC ten-day (got two days off for good behavior even) around 2005.

2½ months. My private took 8 months due to weather. I had the genius idea to start right at the end of fall in the Midwest, so 90% of my private training was looking at snow and ice all over the airplane and going right back home.

5-6 months, another month waiting for a checkride.
Novel_Economics5828@reddit
Private took 9 months, instrument took 5 weeks (with a one week vacation).

Opposite for me. Private took 11 months and instrument took 6 (well actually 7…had to discontinue my checkride after the oral due to weather and we scheduled the flight for 5/20).
I think instrument went faster because I had fewer cancellations for weather, better plane availability and shorter ATC delays because I did all my training at night, and also I had enough stick and rudder skill by that point that I could focus all my attention on the procedural part of instrument flying. Plus I’m a numbers person, and flying off the needles is easier for me than doing good ground reference maneuvers, for example.

I am in the exact same boat my friend. Keep pushing.
