I built DVDs that would automatically image a computer, run GhostWalker to regenerate the SID, configure all the registry, and reboot... implement a secure mode, like a kiosk mode, setup all the drivers, and then boot into client mode. The person imaging the computer just had to scan two barcodes, one on the PC and one off a printed sheet.. At the end I think we were cranking out 50 an hour, each. it was epic.
I still use an even older version than that. Just super simple to run, clone, and done. No booting required. It's the closest I can come to using dd on Windows. Great RAW copy software still.
If you can find a copy of PartitionImage or ServerImage, that is a much better imaging software. Ghost had some bad problems with image corruption for a long time. Basically until Symantec bought PowerQuestand just made PartitionImage their next version of Norton Ghost.

There are much better tools than Ghost these days.

Even something that can make network boot floppies? That's the best use for ghost imo.

One of my password sections is a ghost key from 2001.

My experiences with Norton Ghost were terrible. I swear it failed more than it worked.

remind me old ghost images with bank rollouts, now easeus and acronis have more pro tools for cloning and especially in server disks.

Still my go-to imager for old machines, although clonezilla works well too.
