Part 61 in Hawaii as an Indian citizen

Hi Aviators,
Did anyone had their CPL nd/OR flying hours done in Hawaii?
I have reached out to couple of Flying schools which are offering me part 61 with a possibility to work as a CFI if things go as planned. also, from what I have heard - the duration is shortest in US if one wants to complete CPL early- so thats there. For context, I am an Indian citizen and seriously considering between Hawaii and New Zealand.
Due to recent Rupee decline wrt USD its making things difficult financially but happy to hear what are your thoughts, how is the training and COL in Hawaii.
Should I really consider it or go with New Zealand for my CPL.

Non-US citizens who come to the US for flight training have the right to work as flight instructor? If that is the case that is exactly what is wrong with this job market.

A very tiny slice of this population may do so. They need a sponsored flight training visa through completion of ATP. They may instruct to get to 1,500 hours. "Instruct to ATP" is not the norm in most of the world, so I don't think it happens all that often.

If you are coming for flight training you’ll need a Part 141 school approved to sponsor a visa.

Hawaii has probably one of the highest cost of living in the US
Please read my post on training and working in other countries here: https://raisetheded.blogspot.com/2026/04/training-and-working-as-pilot-in-other.html
Keep in mind, there is no guarantee the school will hire you as a CFI. Unless you get it in writing, don't count on it, and be grateful if they do hire you.
