I just turned 50 last week. I absolutely love playing some NIN full volume and will never stop. I refuse to change. Music that you love is life!

To be fair though, I have to do that because I have tinnitus from playing it too loud when I was 20 lol.
Retirement homes are going to be WILD here in about 20 years.

Yup. Turned 50 earlier this year and took a trip where I saw NIN in concert. There were plenty of folks around our age....

I just turned 52, wife and I saw them here a month or so ago and it was AWESOME! Total bucket list for me and seeing so many people around our age just having a blast was the cherry on top.
And my God, Trent Reznor is 60?!?!?! He hasn't lost a fucking step!

Music is special. More so than movies or books. Think about it. Say you have a favorite book or books. How many times do you read it in your lifetime? Under 5 probably. What about your favorite movies? How many times do you watch. Special ones to us like certain Christmas movies we watch every year so as of now what? Say 50 times. Yes that is a lot. But think about your favorite song or songs. How many times do you listen to it? Probably thousands of times. You have it in playlists. You listen to it all the time. Not just one song either. I have hundreds of songs that I have listened to hundreds and hundreds of times and will not be stopping anytime soon. Not just once a year for nostalgia.
Like Frank Zappa said. Music is the best.

Good music never dies

Old Gen-x here, I am old enough to have seen both the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Cheap Trick at a bowling alley.. and old enough to crank the music up because of hearing loss.. still love the music of high school and college, but I turn it up now because I have become partially deaf because I turned it up then.. lol

In a few weeks I'm going to a festival that I attended for the first time in 2000.
I don't exactly listen to the same music as when I was 16, but I do still basically listen to the same kind.
maxwellgrounds@reddit
Still blasting Morbid Angel and Paradise Lost.

Man!!! It’s been a while, I think a good dose of Pretty Hate Machine is in my immediate future.

Coachella footage is badass! I had to listen with headphones (12am)and my ears rang for two days.

There's no reason to ever stop listening to the music you love. And NIN is absolutely amazing and one of the greatest of our time.

Priest, Maiden, Dio, Skynyrd, and Megadeth.
My world view is influenced by the works of all of these bands.

What would we without music? I’d go bananas!
earinsound@reddit
still listen to records, still play in bands at 56.
TripMaster478@reddit
I've been listening to a Metallica live album most of the week. I may have used band members to create test customers in a system. Shrug.

Dude is 60 and still sounds as raw and powerful as ever.
Reddiculusness@reddit
56 and just installed 2 additional subs under the back seat of my truck . GWAR is the first play after work, Misfits is usually next, after that it could be anything from the 70s-90s hard rock - heavy metal- or punk .
Dusty_Sequins@reddit
Some music should only be played loud.

Turning 50 later this year. My tinnitus is getting worse everyday, and blasting the music in my car isn't making it any better. That said, when the right song comes on, there is no other choice. I'll sleep when I'm dead.
I blame all of it on McIntosh, Orion, and Kenwood.

I was listening to Turnstile while pulling up to my office. One of the attorneys that rents from me said I was gonna go deaf.
Flat_6_Theory@reddit
I blast everything from Carpenters to Danzig. Happens when your hearing goes south.

"moth-a". Well he say mother like that! Danzig,!!!
