My “once in a lifetime” supra comeback story.

Hi guys, I felt like sharing this amazing story. I have posted this car prior a few times. Some of you probably saw the footage of the accident, where a driver pulled out in front of me while I was going 50 mph.
I had this car for a little two years, it was my pride and joy. It was totaled by insurance and I wasn’t given an option to buy back. I was convinced I lost it forever, after it sold on auction before I get my hands on it again. 4 months later, I receive a message on Instagram. I am not sure how they found me, but they did. They explained they bought a damaged a90 and thought it was mine before. Turns out it was my car, and it’s being rebuilt and made into a 600 hp track car in Poland. The guy recognized what this car meant to me, and i’ve been given an offer to buy back. I’ve been getting daily updates of it ever since. I realize the chances of him finding me and allowing a buy back was an EXTREMELY low chance. And I’m not going to waste the opportunity to get it back, i’ve been given a second chance with her and I’m beyond excited to do it. :)

Well I bought another car, not another supra because I wasn’t in a good financial position after the accident. Also, I wanted this one back, and still do

IMO i'd have rather found another MKV, used, if you were in a position to get another.
I hope you bought it cheap, and hope the parts to put it back on the road is also cheap.

Sure, but like.. is the frame mangled, is it going to be fixed with wood glue and screws? Sounds like he's planning to mod it and beat the fuck out of it and then sell it back? Shipping/import will cost a bunch too

We will see. I doubt it though, guy seems to know what he’s doing, way more than me especially. Poland is pretty big for modding and tuning. I had a friend who had his shipped out there to get the ECU unlocked on his A90.
I will continue to hope it’s in good hands, because you’re right- ya never know.

Eastern Europe is importing lots of totaled American cars, fixing them up (not always very good) and sell them to other European markets. If you want to buy an American muscle car, old or new, often enough it was restored in a workshop in Lithuania or poland

I am hoping to. Id obviously prefer to get it back after it’s rebuilt, but before mods. I would like to mod it out myself to make it “me” if that makes sense. But it’s HIS car now, not mine (that was very hard to say). So i’m not gonna sit around and beg for it back. He said he will let it go at some point. :)
