Unfortunately, i still end up owing somehow even after claiming 0, and filing as single even though i'm married and have a kid. Absolutely ridiculous tbh.
Because everyone is afraid that someone is going to see their post, apply and they’ll get a call in the morning talking about how they’re no longer needed because someone from Reddit took their job.
It’s more like a combination of not wanting to be identified by your employer because they’ll probably find something that violates their social media policies, and not wanting random people on the internet to have a chance at identifying you and trying to fuck up your job/life just for fun.
I regularly refer people to the company I work for, but only in private messages.
It’s your personal information, unless you’re under some sort of NDA that’s highly illegal but I get not wanting to “ruffle feathers”. I just don’t understand posting it all in that case.
I work for a small kosher food company , we have just 2 trailer drivers the other 5-6 trucks are box trucks , I’ll pm you because I’m the only main trailer driver so if I post the company they’ll know who I am easily lol but one question are you near Bensalem / Philadelphia ? That’s where we are you would need to be in this area
Does your company offer a 401k plan? If so you gotta be putting in at least their match amount. You’re throwing money away if you’re not utilizing a 401k match.
At least max out a Roth IRA for the year. Im married with 2 kids and at lowest tax bracket and rate I’ll ever be. So I don’t worry so much about 401k contributions until I max out my Roth IRA. 401k are kind of a scam with fees and they make you pay taxes on money when you have no dependents.
It’s a home daily position, only thing is, the walmart DC im out of is 45min+ from any good areas to live in and im currently paying off debt so im choosing to live out of my truck for a year anyway.
Swift has other contracts with Walmart DCs so its not just this area. You can look on the swift driving jobs site in your area, there may be a home daily position you are looking for.
The only thing that sucks is the stores like to ignore the back door on overnight meat and produce loads , they even will ignore the emails dispatch sends them
I used to just pull open the doors or go in through the cart area. Ain’t nobody back there overnight and i ain’t waiting for dispatch to get ahold of somebody.
The job I’m at now I’m clearing between $1200-$1500 gross a week. It’s pretty chill other than working Saturday mornings during peak season. Some days I’ll be driving a tractor trailer the next I’ll drive a 10 wheeler with a moffett and other days I’m just making deliveries in a ram 2500.
How many hours are you working per week? When I was local they would squeeze everything they could out of my clock. I would go home and only have time to eat/shower and then it was straight to bed because I had to get up and do it again.
Cheeseman_Tony@reddit
But are you working Saturdays
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
Some Saturdays not every Saturday when I worked Saturday my check was $1754 but Monday- Friday it was $1546
Emergency_Ad1152@reddit
You better be living in a small town from Alabama for this to make sense.
Imjusta_pug@reddit
How are your taxes so low? lol like 40% of my paycheck goes out to taxes
Longway23544@reddit (OP)
I go exempt on my federal taxes I pay $6500 at end of year but I still pay my states taxes which is like $90 out my check each week
ThankYouSavior-@reddit
Do you make more money by paying a lump sum end of year? Or it would be the same amount as if they taxed you weekly?
avm95@reddit
I've been doing this lately then switching back and forth what's your gross to pay 6,500?
Primedirector3@reddit
Smart way to do it if you’re disciplined. Government doesn’t deserve an interest free loan for a year
librarydirective@reddit
We’re still paying taxes?
Imjusta_pug@reddit

polarjunkie@reddit
You pay more when you file single.
Imjusta_pug@reddit
Yea I get that’s I’m saying I have to file 0 and single otherwise I end up owing more. Half the time I have to have extra taken out so I don’t owe.
polarjunkie@reddit
Oh I get you, you claim zero dependants and single for withholding purposes
Imjusta_pug@reddit
Yea, it sucks, but I don’t make the same amount every year but I always either come out even or end up owing. Shits so dumb.
casuallytea@reddit
Newish to the sub, genuinely wondering why it’s the norm to post these and not say who you’re with, what area you’re based in, or what you’re doing?
Seeking understanding as someone about to start school. Came for the resources, but keep finding random paystubs.

My company said if you post you work for them, conduct yourself in a business like manor. I read that as an easy way to fire you with cause.
casuallytea@reddit
Well that’s illegal, but I understand the fear.
absurdistpassenger@reddit
It's literally just to make themselves feel better.
OP will probably reply with some other justification, but they and everyone else know the real reason.
Fancy_Chip_5620@reddit
Im a mechanic but my check looks similar $1476.90 gross, $199.28 taxes, $59.08 deducted
$1218.54 net
My taxes have always been around there and ive never owed at the end of the year with no dependants or anything
Is that abnormal???
Outrageous-Trip-7376@reddit
I gross 1538 , net like 1,150 , 40 Hours a week , 5am - 1pm , I love it
Ok_Translator_6814@reddit

Swift, on a walmart dedicated, can earn around $1400 - $2000 on 2000 - 3000 miles

No benefits? No retirement? Little taxes? What is this lol
HeywoodJaBlowMe123@reddit
Kinda what i was thinking too lol. OP says he pays $6500 towards fed taxes end of year so that’s $125 per week for the whole year.
$1532 - $125 =$1,407.00
Or (On lower weeks) $1350 - $125=$1,225.00
Factor in lack of medical/dental, retirement…
To each their own i suppose.
Rikishi6six9nine@reddit
How the hell are the taxes so low😅 i usually gross around $2100 and take home $1300.
