Hello, I'm 19 years old and trying to become a truck driver, I'm currently studying for my clp using the book that my dmv has on their website. I see its like basically 150+ pages and I heard that they basically ask questions from any portion of it for general knowledge am I expected to read the whole book excluding passenger and hazmat endorsements becuase im not trying to do either of those right now. I use 2 different apps right now for practice tests and exams and on one app I'm passing everything and the other app I struggle to get a 70% and I dont want to go to the dmv and wait at the dmv as long as it takes just to get a 70%. Im not trying to take shortcuts or anything if I have to read the whole book I will I just didnt want to read the whole thing if I didn't have to

Just study the general knowledge. Tests on that site are very close to dmv.
Also you can’t drive out of state till you’re 21 which is severely going to limit your job options.

Thanks I tried this website and passed the general knowledge test immediately. I plan to try to get a job driving dump trucks since I know i cant leave the state.

Gotcha. I think you have to wait like 24 hours if you fail the tests but you can just keep taking them till you pass. So just do your best and if you end up failing you’ll know what to look for.

Read the entire damn book. All of it. Then read it again and take notes. Only then start looking at study guides. Learn as much as possible

The test for the CLP itself is broken up into 3 different tests, and when you pass 1 you keep those results for 6 months.
Good luck!

CDL prep really gave me a good idea on what would/could be on the permit test. Just read through the manual, do the practice tests and don't overthink the questions. Make sure you read the entire question and all of the choices before you answer and you will be fine!

just study for the parts that you will be taking. If you're not doing any endorsements now, then don't worry about studying for those.
