Rx7 FB LQ4 swap headers/drift upgrades?

I KNOW I KNOW.
Boo ls swap.
I do love this platform, though. Some of the prettiest cars around.
I’m too poor for a rotary setup that’d make anywhere near as much power and this rx7 didn’t come with one in the first place.
I have an LQ4 i’m building;
Tbss intake
317 heads
cam: 224/230 LSA: 109
flat top pistons
ISO long tube headers but that what im planning on
other supporting mods like trunnion upgrade and gen 4 rods
I’m planning on putting it into a 1985 RX7 GSL tha didn’t have a rotary do begin with. While i am attempting to keep it budget i am already aware of the sacrifices i’ll have to make in order to make real power and a reliable engine.
I have two questions:
What long tube headers might fit my application? i know the FB isn’t supported as well, but will other rx7 headers fit? are the non swap specific headers that might work?
It’s already on coilovers, what other drifting upgrades should i make? it’s getting a full breaks refresh.
Recommendations on engine mounts would also be greatly appreciated, but i’m relatively sure i’m going to have to fab some.

I had a 280z with a 5.3. I used a LS1 intake for hood clearance and long tube headers. I used the stock PCM with the emmisions/VATS deleted and nothing else done to it. The car was amazing to drive. Low end torque does wonders in a very light car. Your car will be lighter and with a 6.0 you should have around 20 more HP with stock tuning. Driveability is awesome with instant starts and quiet idle. If you are not going to have it tuned I would go this route. Driving a early RX7 will feel like you accelerate with a portal gun.

You might be in "custome manifold" territory. If you plan on doing this a lot, check out these bad boys

Goated find! anything weird i should know about running front facing manifolds?

Itll either limit you to a hood/fender dump or an expensive run of pipe to the rear resembling a snail shell

good to know. gotta keep it na until i got sum more cash. Dual pop-up dumps? would hate to ruin the light but it could be unique and epic

Just be aware you need at least a foot or two or you'll loose backpressure and itll sound like ass

is there any way this’d pass dmv inspection

Fun fact: FC front subframes can fit the FB, since the FC's suspension geometry is based on the FB.

This means you can grab a tubular subframe for an FC and get it to fit relatively simply. The tubular subframe will give you more room to fit whatever header you can get.

Genius stuff, that’ll make mounts a million times easier. And helps oil pan clearance possibly?

Definitely

If you can find long-tube headers that fit, they can help low-RPM torque, but the LS already has plenty so consider getting an exhaust that fits more easily. Project cars occasionally need wrenching, so your 1/4 mile times will not change much using the easy exhaust over the headache exhaust...

good to know. how much of a difference will it make? hammering it a tad a terrible plan?
