I do recall quite the commotion when the original came out. Is this reboot just pandering to older generations? They won't replicate the hysteria.

Im in the super minority, this movie scared me half to death. Forget camping!

But the original stars were never found, were they?

Suddenly, they returned...

The ad campaign is what made the movie. The commercials had you hooked into going to see it.

At a time when you could use the current state of the internet to your advantage. They had a great time passing this off as real.
Dramatic_Side_856@reddit
Exactly, the viral found footage market made this movie!

Yeah, can we not?

I that movie was lightening in a bottle. You can’t recreate those circumstances.

The trailer was more scary than the actual movie.

The original actors delivered $140M on an almost non-existent budget, even acting as their own director and crew much of the time. They got totally exploited. The story is really sad, the podcast "What Went Wrong" has an episode covering it.

Cane to say, I hope they actually get paid this time.

Make that coin!

That's the American dream! Exploit as much as you can for maximum profit.

I remember being stunned that everyone did not immediately know it was all fake.
That was when my eyes were opened as to how stupid the average person was. 😁

I honestly never knew there was a real issue here. I seem to recall knowing from the start it was a movie shot to look like found footage.

I prefer Bare Pimp Project.

95% of all remakes are trash.

That low?

We can't recreate this movie, and we shouldn't try
The envrionment in which this movie launched will never exist again, and no audience can ever experience it the same way. I'm very sad that people are even trying
LibertyMike@reddit
I could barely watch it. Not because it was scary, but because of the constant shaking camera. It made me motion sick and gave me a headache.
Stereo_Jungle_Child@reddit
The Blair Witch Project movie was terrible. The scariest part of the whole movie was when they ran out of cigarettes.
theonetruegrinch@reddit
The scariest part of the movie was when we were leaving and people started to demand their money back
wyohman@reddit
The tears and snot were scary too!
Stereo_Jungle_Child@reddit
Snot-crying and no cigarettes = horror masterpiece!
lol
GeoHog713@reddit
The first time I saw it, it was a grainy mp4 downloaded off usenet.
It hasn't really come out yet. Definitely freaky bc you weren't sure if it was real.
gotkube@reddit
JFC. Stop. Just, stop with these remakes. If there aren’t enough ideas to support a bloated industry then the industry needs to shrink. Stop making crap for the sake of making crap
Grouchy_Branch_510@reddit
This is one of the lamest movies of all time, nothing but crying screaming and snotting all close up. Was never believable as real footage.

Blair witch idea was taken from 1980s movie cannibal holocaust. They hyped Blair witch alot and it worked
