That's gonna leave a mark
Josef_Kant_Deal@reddit
Probably a lost line haul driver
Spitfire954@reddit
Line haul took the wrong line for sure. Could be a city driver, but damn, how do you look at that bridge and think “I’m good”?
Josef_Kant_Deal@reddit
The Chicago Heights breakbulk is fairly close and someone else mentioned a bunch of construction in the area.
Nero-Danteson@reddit
But the truck detour is clearly marked???
driver004@reddit
We can see that comprehending signs is a problem with this one
pisces_bubble@reddit
Comprehension? He probably doesn't even speak English....smdh
Josef_Kant_Deal@reddit
Maybe. I don't live there or run with FXF anymore
PlastomaGaming@reddit
A city driver with a set?
Spitfire954@reddit
Yep, I used to roll out on in the AM with doubles nearly every day for P&D. Other guys would roll out with triples too. Out west plenty of roads are wide and there are places to park and break a set. Also maybe half of my stops had docks, the rest were forked off the tail. I would also jackknife the rear trailer and get pallets forked off of my front trailer from time to time.
Mydogfartsconstantly@reddit
*fork lift driver
Josef_Kant_Deal@reddit
*glorified dock worker
Own_Strawberry_4262@reddit
Why was he even there? Those doubles guys usually have a specific route. They run to avoid dumb s*** like this
MiguelSTG@reddit
He could have been coming back from two drop and hook shippers. And if he was new, but told all highways are truck height he was on the Dixie Highway, which is a historic and not modern highway. But lastly, there are plenty of signs to warn him.
Own_Strawberry_4262@reddit
true I guess but I'm sure there were signs lol plus as a driver it is obviously low.
MiguelSTG@reddit
Oh, there were. Plenty of them. I posted an imgur link in the comments earlier.
tommior@reddit
why are your doubles so comically short tho? :D
Own_Strawberry_4262@reddit
depending on the state some state can run triples.
Vast-Yak-8713@reddit
So dumb….
John9250@reddit
Dude probably said, “come this way all the time”. 🤣
Freightshaker000@reddit
You're only too tall the first try.
Tots989135@reddit
My dad always says "with enough velocity you can overcome any obstacle"
driver004@reddit
What I see is a massive quitter, barely even got the tip in
snarksneeze@reddit
Still has his tires inflated too, clearly didn't try everything
driver004@reddit
Everyone knows real truckers keep high explosive cutting charges under their bunk to clear the airspace
ThePeterbilt589@reddit
to tuna can it or not to tuna can it, that is the question - socrates
driver004@reddit
The answer is cowardice or unapologetic violence of action, there is nothing in between
Freightshaker000@reddit
No determination or dedication.

The fucks wrong with kids these days
Sharp_Requirement_50@reddit
No balls.

No one wants to work...
driver004@reddit
Man you got to work it, but if you forget your prep work ooff could go badly
JulianneElise@reddit
Your post and the comments literally made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the smiles. Be safe drivers. 🌹
Kindly_Region@reddit
Usually I have the opposite problem. I forget I'm just driving a car and will take turns extra wide and slow, go to push in the non existent clutch when I go to stop, try and take a gear on a stick that isn't there. Today I drove through the middle of an arch bridge I clearly had enough space to stay on my side with the wife's corolla
driver004@reddit
I stay out for months then I come home and get in my Jetta and am like fuck my ass is sitting on pavement, this is like driving a roller skate
RollinHellfire@reddit
That's a drivers license less on the roads...
absurdistpassenger@reddit
It's always an LTL, even though they're considered by many to be the best drivers...
StephenDA@reddit
GPS routing. What could go wrong.
Arth3r911@reddit
That thing looks like the cab got hit first. Smh
Mozzatav@reddit
How do you guys avoid this? Not the crashing part, but before it, when you realize that your path has a low hanging bridge you won’t be able to go under?
Can you pinpoint these bridges when you’re pre planning your route?
BriskManeuver@reddit
Most navigating apps for trucks have you routed to avoid these. They are programmed for 13'6" or use at atlas. general rule is never go on streets that say no trucks. Its very easy to avoid these.
Mozzatav@reddit
I wondered if such an app existed, thank you!
FloppyTacoflaps@reddit
Imagine how stupid truck drivers are and realize more then 50% of them are dumber then that.
BriskManeuver@reddit
This sentence doesnt make sense at all
BriskManeuver@reddit
Even if you take the wrong turn/exit etc you should still pay attention to bridge heights. Stop, call the cops, get bitched at, and move on with your day. At the end of the day you didnt hit anything
DazednConfuzed62@reddit
No, not Fed Exy Ex too! Nothing stops those nuts from running...except a low overpass
Polerize2@reddit
Those bridges take a hell of a beating.
MiguelSTG@reddit
the bridge, without the truck
Euphoric-Highlight-5@reddit (OP)
11' 10" lol
Tonkatte@reddit
That should not be possible. And yet we see it every day. WTF.
driver004@reddit
What not being possible, morons?
Tonkatte@reddit
A driver in a rented box truck is one thing. Someone towing a double should know better. But yeah they are all around us.
driver004@reddit
If I wanted to invoke the saint mr rogers, I would point out that I don’t see any height restriction signs, and I know that I’m doing a green goblen upward gaze of dispare every time I see a 13’8 warning sign because that shits hard to eyeball sometimes.
That said I’ll bet 100 bucks there was a no truck access sign at some point on this route

Ha! That’s funny and a example that one perspective is not always the perspective
JayGT1@reddit

Euphoric-Highlight-5@reddit (OP)
Homewood Illinois
MPV8614@reddit
Is that Dixie Highway in Homewood?

L_Bird47@reddit
Damn lol
I know the wrecker driver that got called out to fix that that today
TripleTrucker@reddit
Damn I would have bet it was Ground!
FossMan21@reddit
Do you know the posted height of the bridge?
cliowill@reddit
I don't think FedEx hire rookies. Surprised to see this
trucksarekewl@reddit
Where is this lol
Euphoric-Highlight-5@reddit (OP)
South suburb of Chicago
jawsytown@reddit
Yeah was gonna be my first guess.
trucksarekewl@reddit
Smh, probably tried to go around something on the highway. Should stick to the interstate if you dont know where youre going in Shitcago
driver004@reddit
Lot of closed ramps and construction around there right now
username_unnamed@reddit
It's FedEx, yes, yes they did.
Busy-Purple-3779@reddit
Happened to me once. I was in the Pink slipped out and accidentally put it in the stink. Low clearance. I got my tractor in,but my trailer, trailer couldn’t get any movement
careFULLnot@reddit
Hardly any of the undrepasses on Long Island are marked at all. It's like they welcome low clearance accidents. Not even on the L.I.E. I-495
idontknowhowtopark@reddit
Job opening.
theKleShay@reddit
"where's my package?"
pinkypie80@reddit
I'm guessing he saw the sign for the highway pointing left and assumed it was a truck route.
Hard-Coconut-@reddit
omg...my worst fear. i mean besides someone that cant drive getting me killed.
Syko_Zodiac88@reddit
If it doesn’t make it the first time back up and hit it with more speed. 😂
