Hey sorry for the weird question. I talked to them to be a fuel hauler for them and I don’t know how to feel about what they told me. So apparently I’ll be averaging 1800-2300/week but it’s hourly pay, cents per mile pay, and then percentage load pay? Tbh sounded a bit confusing…. But if anyone has any experience with them would really love appreciate your opinion is it a company worth working for?

No experience with them directly but they've been around for quite a while and their equipment looks sharp. Clean and seems to be well maintained. Never understood why companies pay like that. It's obviously to their advantage but don't know why.

Yea when I was talking to them I mean the pay seemed a little weird but then again it is a local job and I’ve only ever done OTR so I was like “might as well give it a shot” the thing that seemed a lil sus was them stating that all their drivers doing dry bulk make 90k-100k and all the fuel haulers make over 100k. I’ve been in trucking a while so I know the numbers are inflated but still idk either the job is grueling for that pay or it seems to good to be true you know? Like 100k for hauling fuel going home everyday

Food grade tanker is over 100k. I worked 4 1/2hrs today for $448 bucks, I do it again Sunday too. Plus extra $88 on top for weekend premium.

Do you know if there’s a job like that in Syracuse NY? Lol or surrounding area?

IDK Im in Birmingham. lol

Well I’ve been out of trucking for a while. 20 years since I climbed in a rig. Pay scales like that are definitely an advantage to the company. Even if the driver is making good money.

My milk haulers get load pay loading pay unloading pay. They make out really well
ybrah37@reddit
But why is paid like that? Is it to avoid paying hourly and potentially you not making as much?
Milk_MAN1963@reddit
They make between 175000 and 200000 a year. All the drivers like it. If they are sitting in a dairy for 9 hours at 50hr it adds up pretty quick
ybrah37@reddit
That’s a hell of a paycheck! Any driver would like that. Still don’t understand the reason for paying like that though.
Milk_MAN1963@reddit
How much should I pay a driver to leave our shop drive 100 miles to the farm pick up the milk and drive 125 miles to the plant
Vanstrucker2222@reddit
That’s it? 225 and they are making 175-200k? Are they company drivers? Yall hiring?
ybrah37@reddit
I’m not giving you a hard time. Just asked a simple question trying to understand the reasoning for paying by load, by miles, by loading/unloading instead of hourly.
egivan6903@reddit (OP)
True idk why they pay on so many different pay scales? Maybe low hourly since it’s local, cents/mile cause we may be stuck in traffic to cut some there and %load sort of commission based like we get paid for the work we do??? Idk just throwing things out there
Responsible-Baby-551@reddit
I’ve known a couple of their drivers over the years and they seemed to really like the company and the pay

That’s reassuring to hear yea I mean I don’t think the company is being shady or anything I’ve done some research on it tbh maybe some ppl won’t agree but as we long as I can make 1500-1800 take home I’ll be living the dream (lol Idk if I’m asking for to much or to little tbh)
Vanstrucker2222@reddit
Before my company switch its pay structure we got paid like this. Load, unload, mile pay, delay pay, on duty pay…a lot of gray area for theft. Now we’re just hourly and miles.
