I don't get it. Why would someone buy this, instead of just using their OEM glock slide? If it isn't broke?
What does this offer besides potential unreliability?

There's also people that 3d print frames and want what seems to be a premium slide assembly. Oem mos slides are this cost alone and don't offer any advantages over this kit

Reliability is a fun argument. Glock isnt infallible either.

Of course, but a stock Glock and other well made striker fired guns can go 10's of 1000's of rounds without cleaning, and aftermarket slides can have issues right out of the box and often have a hard time making it past 2k rounds without cleaning.

I wouldn't mind saving hundreds of dollars and the only trade off I have to make is to actually clean my gun.

$250 for just the upper, isn't going to be saving you hundreds. I can pick up a gen 3 Glock here locally for $300-350. The whole gun

Fancy slide cuts and aftermarket branding make the strike industry people excited. OEM is going to be more reliable and more accurate, so this would be a downgrade from a stock Glock. I think this is really only catered to the P80/printed frame crowd or to the people who refuse to have a gun that looks like the other guns regardless of performance.
