I asked the LMT boys the same question. Their unstated answer was they make quality products and the spike's is not even on the same level. The details in the answer was the materials and process - something about spikes using smooth bore tube stock that they cut to length and put some stuff on, where as lmt uses aluminum bar that gets milled, some other stuff along those lines

I have no doubt that LMT makes a higher quality product.

I am just saying that this is one of those situations that you can get 99% of the way there with for about 30% of the cost.

I am no engineer but LMT milling the tube etc basically feels like you are paying $1000 more for an "Artisanal" flare launcher.

Tbf, comparing a Havoc to my M203, the Havoc feels incredibly cheaply made and the fit and finish leaves me wanting. Having to depress the release to close the breech is also a very weird choice, and manually cocking it is a pain

Yeah you can find 37mm ones for cheap but they dont look like a m203. I understand the appeal of these. The lmt 37s are usually fairly hard to come by/ low production. The price is fair on the dealers end they are just expensive, in general, from the manufacturer when you could score a 40mm lmt for around the same cost.

Buy reciever, form 1 DD, then buy barrel. Keep an eye on KAK, Dwilsonmfg, and Titan defense. They usually have them in stock and run sales around holidays. I paid like 1300-1400$ for my 40mm including 200$ tax stamp. Dwilsonmfg u/unclemoak is the man

hey, if you can get just the frame, some of us may be willing to do the conversion to DD work ourselves. I missed out on titan's sale a year ago where frames were just over $1k and i'm still mad.

One FFL/SOT was saying there was, but I only thought it was for DD items that contained HE and wasn't a written policy (through the national register).

I think the 09/10/11s have no limit. May be best to just buy the receiver, form 1 and complete it.

FYI these can’t be readily converted to 40. The 40mm receiver is a title 1 firearm and needs an FFL to transfer. These are substantially different in order to still qualify as a signal device.
