i been talking about this since it started and how it was going to tank the industry, people called me a liar but here it is again. this video is missing some key things, but if you wonder why old JB is hated like it is, here you go. its gets even worse with these subcontractor illegal companies hauling for these big named companies.
I’ve worked for multiple carriers over my 14 years as a driver, and there’s a reason I’ve stayed with JB Hunt for the last 8.
They’ve been good to me. I like the way they run their business, and their model just makes sense. I’m able to work locally and be home almost every night, which matters more to me now than chasing miles.
I make six figures, I’m treated like a professional, and when I say it’s too dangerous to roll, that’s the end of it. No pushback, no games.
This is, hands down, the best company I’ve worked for. Not perfect, but solid where it counts.
I worked for jb hunt for a little over two years on the dcs side. It was great until a shit manager moved in (that manager has been moved around at least three times that I know of. Always ruins the accounts she gets) I think the trick with jb is to find a solid account with solid management, but that’s such an easy thing to screw up
worked at jb hunt for about 3 weeks. never hauled a load for them. they couldnt give me a truck that wasnt busted to hell or bug free. ill never go back.
Ever since I got stuck behind a JB Cunt going 30 through a one lane work zone on i-20 with nobody in front of him and no reduced speed limit and ended up getting parked at my home terminal a minute past my 11, I automatically assume any driver fur that company is full blown retarded.
They are. They purposely mess up other drivers. I've had them hover at a green so I couldn't make it. They constantly cut me off then slow down just to get passed back up on a curve. They are incompetent.
They're one of those mixed bag carriers I find. Sometimes they're hauling like a bat out of hell but God help you if you get stuck behind one of their intermodal boys around Chicago. I'm convinced those motherfuckers use hamster wheels in lieu of engines.
Give em credit though. They're the goats of creating traffic backups. They've been blocking the left and middle lanes since before most of us were born. They're truly awesome at being awful.
No, that's not either one of them. That's J.B. himself. BTW it was the Carter administration who deregulated the F out of the industry and helped put us in the clown show we're in now.

After watching that video, TIL Hunt broke the unions and classifies their drivers as contractors.
I guess if you believe that, you'll believe anything.

If they're all governed at 65 and drive slower anyway, why can't they get out of the center lane?

I worked for two separate accounts for JB Hunt. I wouldn't go back to that sham of a company even if they were the last carrier on earth.

Very interesting. I did not know this information. No wonder the old timers were pissed.

I've been saying the driver shortage part for years. It's not a shortage of drivers, it's a shortage of cheaper labor.Â
