Israeli forces intercept Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters near Greece

The Global Sumud Flotilla activists said on Thursday Israeli soldiers boarded the ships, damaged engines and communications devices in an effort to force them to reverse course.
Israeli military forces have intercepted boats of the Global Sumud Flotilla travelling to Gaza in international waters near Greece, the group said on Thursday.
In a post on X, the group, which initially set sail with 58 vessels carrying activists and aid, aiming to break the Israeli naval blockade of the Strip, said its boats were intercepted in what they called an "illegal act".
The number of vessels seized is unclear at this time. Israeli army radio, citing an unnamed military source, said seven of the 58 boats had been intercepted near Kythira.
The flotilla said it had lost contact with 11 vessels and described 15 as having been boarded.
The Israeli foreign ministry subsequently said forces had detained 175 people from more than 20 boats.
The interceptions began in the early hours of Thursday, more than 600 nautical miles from the coast of Gaza.
“Our boats were approached by military speedboats, self-identified as ‘Israel’, pointing lasers and semi-automatic weapons ordering participants to the front of the boats and to get on their hands and knees. The boat communications are being jammed and an SOS was issued,” the group shared in a statement.
They also reported many boats in the travelling fleet were damaged in the “violent raid” after Israeli soldiers boarded and “systematically disabled” several ships.
It is not yet clear if Israel arrested all the activists on board every boat it intercepted and took them on board Israeli vessels, or if some activists remain stranded at sea.

Unfortunately, the era of expecting unmolested passage through international waters is over. Countries with navies are using them with minimal political blowback, even in violation of international law.
kolitics@reddit
When was there an era of expecting to cross a blockade unmolested?
Stubbs94@reddit
Why is a "liberal democracy" enacting a siege on a civilian population?
kolitics@reddit
Because doing “liberal democracy” stuff like throwing a music festival doesn’t work?
rattleandhum@reddit
Where is there a blockade in the med? Is the Eu comfortable with Israel patrolling in their maritime EZs? Madness.
SeeShark@reddit
It's international waters. The EU has no more authority there than anyone else.
The flotilla declared its intent to violate a nation's sovereignty. From a legal perspective, does it matter where in international waters they get intercepted?
moonorplanet@reddit
These boats were intercepted near Kythira which is over 1000km from Israel, to put that into perspective it's similar in distance from Florida to Nicaragua.
kolitics@reddit
They know they are coming to run the blockade. If they waited until they got there you’d be complaining they sunk 58 ships trying to run the blockade instead if boarding them one by one on approach.
Houdles567@reddit
“You’re lucky the genocidal regime acted like pirates when they did, otherwise they would have decided to act like more murderous pirates later.”
kolitics@reddit
You’re lucky the country at war enforcing a naval blockade didn’t act like a country at war enforcing a naval blockade and took the time to intercept your 58 foreign ships attempting to breach the naval blockade of a country at war.
souperjar@reddit
Well yes
Because that's also bad
Stubbs94@reddit
We'd be complaining they are actively blocking aid from entering Gaza.
SeeShark@reddit
They literally declared their intent to violate Israel's sovereignty. Whether they get intercepted 1000 miles away or 1000 inches away seems pretty irrelevant.
Lezzles@reddit
As a receiver of the average American geographical education, this hasn't helped me in the slightest.
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
🤣
27Rench27@reddit
It does make a bit more sense when you find out the entirety of Germany is smaller than four US states, and at best double the land area of the next like fifteen states.
Nicaragua is the largest Central American country by land mass and it would only marginally be ranked as the 32nd largest US state. We’re kinda fucking massive lol
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
If it had anything to do with size we would be learning the names of Chinese provinces. I think Australia has a state or two bigger than five or six of the largest US states put together. Can you name them? Did you even know they existed?
The quality of education in US schools is quite low. I learned that the hard way.
27Rench27@reddit
I’m quite sure the Chinese and Australians learn their respective regions just like we do, what kind of point is that lol
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
They would learn where the UK and France is and be able to point to it on a map. Kids from the US? Doubtful.
27Rench27@reddit
Two significantly more important regions of the globe, historically, than Kythira or Nicaragua. Kids in the US still learn about WW2, contrary to popular belief
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
lol. Can children who just graduated really pick London out in a map? The UK? Europe?
Peace-Only@reddit
I can’t agree. We are just insular in our thinking. The Canadians, Brazilians, and Russians I work with have noticeably better geography education and understanding than my American colleagues. They are also as a whole much better at math, so it is not related to the physical size of the country, but culture in my view.

Future-Excuse6167@reddit
not international law! oh noes!
Czart@reddit
That's international law, how exactly?
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
Take a break, buddy.
Czart@reddit
Which international law is arresting your citizens violating?
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
What I mean here is so obvious I'm embarassed for you.
Is this really the best use of your time?
Czart@reddit
What is the international treaty that UK and germany have violated by arresting their citizens?
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
I hung out with a friend and got a pizza these past five hours. You do anything good?
Czart@reddit
Good for you! Did you figure it out which international law they're violating?
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
I have an answer for you, but honestly, like I said, it's really an obvious thing I'm saying there that but I'm just kind of cirious about the mentality of someone who jumps on a perceived contradiction in a few words of a semi-old comment and relentessly pursues it.
My question is: what would be so satisfying about being right in this case, and is there anything in your life that would give you equivalent or more satisfaction?
It just seems odd to me.
Anyway, answer my question and I'll answer yours.
Czart@reddit
No, it's really not obvious what arresting your own citizens in your own country has to do with international law. And by semi-old you mean like 8h old? You think i'm glued to this subreddit reading every thread and comment?
Given i spent about 2 minutes total on this conversation, i don't get where you conjured this image that i'm somehow invested. I'm killing a bit of time every few hours, while your little dance avoiding the answer is mildly amusing. That's about it.
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
Acceptable.
So to answer your question, there is no violation of international law for arresting your own citizens; youa re technically correct, and as we know, that is the best kind of correct.
However, I was mentioning it show just how much contempt countries hold international law in: not only are they willing to ignore violations of international law, they are willing to violate the rights of your own citizens for protesting against those same violations.
Make sense?
Czart@reddit
I guess i can understand that now. Though a bit weird example when there are plenty of genuine international laws being broken in recent years. Still, now that you explained the connection i see it.
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
"Well those guys are breaking the law so we can now decide all laws are void."
That's not how anything works bud.
Equivalent_Style_835@reddit
Not like how you show it but humans are not programmed. You can't imagine people whose children get bombed for 3 years now in Gaza, in a real breach of intl.law, first thing they think about is following international law when making a reaction.
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
What in the name of incoherent bot responses am I now getting?
Equivalent_Style_835@reddit
Let me guess, are you an Israeli supporter?
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
No. Also hilarious you seem to reply at the same time as the other guy.
Equivalent_Style_835@reddit
Yes we are from the same bot factory. Loll. You really need to see a doctor dude.
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
You think when only Putin's enemies get charged for corruption that it's a harsh blow to corruption?
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
Weird tangent to bring up there. Explain why you thought that was a relevant point.
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
Because a law unfairly enforced is not a tool of justice but a tool of power.
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
A fart in the hand is worth three birds with one glass house.
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
No regrets in blocking you.
Equivalent_Style_835@reddit
I don't get why got downvoted, by you make alot of sense.
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
Most of the downvotes were for the lack of /s, I think. We all agree international law, fairly enforced, would be a good thing in some hypothetical world that sadly doesn't exist.
Exepony@reddit
Every time something like this happens, the mental gymnastics routine Western media has to perform to justify Israel's crimes while condemning others for "violating international law" becomes a little more difficult. One can only hope that one day it will face-plant hard enough that even its most loyal audience won't be able to look away.
Future-Excuse6167@reddit
Yeah, I feel like at this point the only practical use of international law is as a tool for empire, maybe that's why I'm so hostile to it; it's been corrupted beyond repair. I can't support it, because the only time it'll be enforced is against countries fighting for their sovereignty.
protonpack@reddit
That's all it was ever used as, really. The only way international law will have legitimacy is for counties like Israel and the US to be brought under its authority. Maybe someday.
NotGalenNorAnsel@reddit
not morally no! not humanity! Skip n slide right to actual fascism. But for cheerleaders of a genocide, what's to be expected?

kieranjackwilson@reddit
It’s self-awareness. We want our nation to be a positive force in the world.
baeb66@reddit
Somebody posted a video earlier from the flotilla that was the radio message the interceptors sent to the flotilla. The interceptors claimed the flotilla was violating international law by trying to break their blockade.
Hilarious. Irony is dead.
redpandaeater@reddit
Honest question but when was something else ever not the case? Blockades have a very long history not to mention commerce raiding, privateers, impressment, or even just pirates.
alkbch@reddit
It’s been over for at least a few decades

For your sanity, this is your daily reminder that before you start arguing with pro-Israeli trolls spewing nonsense, remember that you could very well argue with this guy, so don't waste your time.
protomenace@reddit
For your sanity, this is your daily reminder that it's possible to be against Israel without being racist, but apparently very hard for some.
Pklnt@reddit
Imagine being lectured about what is racism when you yourself say shit like:
Actual racism is what you're doing, implying that Palestinians are murderers.
What I'm doing is not racism, I'm not talking about Israeli in general, but online trolls with a specific agenda.
protomenace@reddit
What an extraordinarily bad faith argument lmao. That's a true statement. Notice i never said "all palestinians are killers" or something like that.

Shane-8300@reddit
Oh okay. So in that vein you'd have no problem pointing out what group has been expelled from more places than any other?
protomenace@reddit
That's literally the whole point of Israel's existence. You and your ilk can't tolerate Jews, so they need a place of their own safe from people like you.
Shane-8300@reddit
Just like the Boers!
loggy_sci@reddit
This is also fucking racist. Jews are native to the Levant. The reason isreal exists is because europeans wanted to get rid of their jewish populations.
No surprise to see racist and blatantly wrong historical comparisons from you, troll.

If they were so desperate to escape persecution and death why'd they'd move to a land that already had people living there? Surely that would just cause more problems
protomenace@reddit
Is this a rhetorical question or is it a real question?
If it's a real question: yes they moved somewhere with people living there: Jewish people. They moved into and expanded existing Jewish settlements. They did not move into areas already occupied by other people.
Token993@reddit
So the only group of Jewish people they could join was in an already occupied land? And if they didn't move into areas already occupied by other people why have they been displacing Palestinians this whole time?
Choice between staying and being persecuted or moving and doing the persecution hey
protomenace@reddit
You legitimately seem like you might not understand the history here. There was no displacing going on until the war in 1948.
Prosthemadera@reddit
Oh now you can see bad faith arguments? Maybe you should apply that to your comments where you accuse people of racism simply for posting a real photo of an Israeli settler.
protomenace@reddit
It was the photo plus the words along with the photo, not just the photo.
loggy_sci@reddit
Dude they just hate Jews and can get away with being racists in this sub, so they are.
protomenace@reddit
This interaction and subsequent debate actually had my jaw on the floor:
https://www.reddit.com/r/anime_titties/comments/1szu0mh/comment/oj5n7hs/
They seem seriously convinced that the rules of logic don't apply to them because they're "on the right side of history" or something.
Prosthemadera@reddit
OP just implied he looks ugly or is stupid. That's not racist.
The racist is the settler, actually, he is using violence and threats to forcefully remove Palestinians from their homes. OP mocking his appearance is nothing in comparison.
Pklnt@reddit
Sorry, I'm not going to argue with a racist.
rattleandhum@reddit
don't apologise to him.
byyhmz@reddit
You can only say that about Israelis/Zionists/Jews here.
IdiAmini@reddit
The simple fact you choose to lump together all kinds of different people with different cultures etc into on big pile called Arabs and then start saying "those Arabs...." is a tell tale sign of you being racist as fuck
loggy_sci@reddit
What you’re doing is racism, you just stopped caring because in your mind this is anti-Zionism and gets you upvotes. You’re using caricatures and stereotypes about Jews. Id say youre doing harm to your cause, but im pretty sure you’re just here to circlejerk.
Pklnt@reddit
Pro-Israeli trolls are not necessarily Jews, they're not even necessarily from Israel either.
I'm not using this guy as a caricature or a stereotype of the Jew, I'm using this guy as a representation of a terrorist settler, which many of them have internet and spew their bullshit. Hence my comment, when you interact with trolls spewing nonsense about Palestinians or the Palestinian cause, you may in fact interact with someone like that.
You think it's racist because you're projecting the image of this terrorist as representative of the Jews or the Israelis when that's not what I'm doing.
Save your crocodile tears for someone else.
Stubbs94@reddit
So funny watching Zionists be up in arms about racism when their entire ideology is based on racism towards Palestinians.
protomenace@reddit
The fact you think Jews having self determination is inherently racist is wild.
Stubbs94@reddit
Yes, the idea of a Jewish ethnostate on occupied land being necessary is racist.
protomenace@reddit
Israel is not occupied land. And Israel is absolutely necessary given what Europe and MENA did to the Jews.
Stubbs94@reddit
Believing the Palestinians deserve to suffer because of the crimes of others is racist. Israel isn't a necessity, it's a colonial entity that was founded upon the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians. That is never necessary.
loggy_sci@reddit
Have you demanded your government offer Jews from Israel a place to live once Israel is dissolved? Have you demanded they offer a right of return to israeli jews from Ireland?
protomenace@reddit
Nobody said that.
What were the Jews in 1935 living in Poland supposed to do, stay and face the coming death camps?
What were the Jews in 1951 living in Iraq supposed to do, endure brutal persecution in which they could not hold jobs, bank accounts, run business, or own property?
Israel is and was 100% necessary.
Stubbs94@reddit
This is just a terrible line of logic. Ethnically cleansing the Palestinians isn't justified by the Holocaust or the Zionist bombings that forced Jews out of Iraq.
protomenace@reddit
Nobody said this. Why are you arguing against points nobody made?
It's really ironic that someone from Ireland of all places, one of the countries that famously let in fewer than 100 Jewish refugees during the Nazi era, complain that Israel was created. Your own country helped create the conditions that made Israel necessary by closing their doors. Don't make survival for Jews impossible and then complain when they figure out how to survive.
Zionist bombings didn't force the Jews out of Iraq. The Iraqi government did:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Iraq#Persecution_by_Iraqi_authorities
Stubbs94@reddit
If you believe Israel is justified, the foundation of Israel was always based upon the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians, that was literally the plan the Zionists had for Palestine when they were given the Palestinians land.
protomenace@reddit
Did someone reset your programming back to the beginning of the conversation?
I guess I'll just repeat this snippet because the fact that so many people in Ireland are against Israel always makes me laugh - it's nothing new:
It's really ironic that someone from Ireland of all places, one of the countries that famously let in fewer than 100 Jewish refugees during the Nazi era, complain that Israel was created. Your own country helped create the conditions that made Israel necessary by closing their doors. Don't make survival for Jews impossible and then complain when they figure out how to survive without your help.
Stubbs94@reddit
Jesus, you're actually blaming us for the fucking Holocaust? We were the poorest country in Europe who just ended an 800 year brutal, occupation (kinda) at that stage in the 1920s. We are against Israel because we know what it's like to be ethnically cleansed and occupied by a racist power.
protomenace@reddit
When did I blame you for the Holocaust ?
I blamed you for playing your part in creating the conditions that necessitated the formation of Israel. Like almost every country on Earth at the time, Ireland refused Jewish refugees. That blanket refusal necessitated Israel, because they had nowhere else to go. No I don't expect a small, poor country to take in millions, but... less than 100 total?
It's just unbelievable that under those circumstances you think it's appropriate to criticize Jews for moving to British Palestine and founding Israel.
Stubbs94@reddit
Do you believe that it was justified to remove Palestinians from the land to create Israel?
protomenace@reddit
No.
Palestinians were not removed from the land for Jews in the 30s when much of the foundational population for Israel moved there (fleeing the Nazis).
Palestinians were not removed until the war in 1947/48. The Arab coalition did start that war but I still don't think the way it went down was totally justified. I do however sort of understand how a population that largely just witnessed the near extinction of European Jewry might have been in a mindset of extreme paranoia at that time, and why the reaction to the Arab invasion was what it was.
Likewise the removal of Jews from MENA in the subsequent years was not justified, but it happened, and most of them went to Israel.
Regardless I think it's necessary to separate the Jewish migration to the Levant in the 30s, 40s, and 50s from the actions in the 1947/48 war. They are separate events.
loggy_sci@reddit
Hit dogs holler.
You use caricatures and tropes instead of words, and then expect to everyone to assume your good intentions despite you having just used a bigoted and racist caricature. But you totally just mean online settler trolls.
Do you expect anyone to fucking believe this? You’re a racist and just decided that when it comes to Israel it doesn’t matter, because a bunch of other pathetic racists losers cheer you on.
Pklnt@reddit
Yeah, I'm pretty sure most people can believe that this settler is doing some Hasbara on social medias. There is nothing racist about it.
You accuse me of being racist but you don't even know what you're talking about. A caricature isn't real. It is a distorted representation of someone. That settler isn't a caricature.
Bye.

Palestinians elected hamas - an organisation whose sole purpose is to eradicate jews. Use your empty head once in a while;)
CwazyCanuck@reddit
Crazy that they would be democratically elected, and immediately after forming their government, they would pursue peace with Israel.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2006/mar/31/israel
Even when Hamas launches attacks, they don’t explicitly target Jews, they target Israelis. They don’t target synagogues and yeshivas. They don’t target Jewish specific events, like the Jerusalem Day parades where Jews march through the streets of Old Jerusalem chanting “death to Arabs”.
The “Hamas just wants to eradicate Jews” narrative is just that, a narrative.
balvonas11@reddit
Fucking really? As i said before all of you are so uneducated its fucking crazy.
https://www.adl.org/resources/news/anti-semitism-hamas-charter-selected-excerpts "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).
CwazyCanuck@reddit
Your source is the ADL? The pro-Israel organization that defended Musk’s Nazi salute?
So that quote is from the 1988 charter that has not guided policy since the 90’s. But more importantly, that’s a partial quote of a Hadith. The context of the Hadith is that it’s the final battle between good and evil, between the Jewish messiah and the false messiah, with Jews fighting on both sides. The Jews referenced in your quote are the Jews that reject the Jewish messiah and instead worship the false messiah. It’s not about all Jews. Quoting it would be like Netanyahu likening Palestinians to Amalekites.
Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gharqad#Sunni_interpretation
balvonas11@reddit
Source of it not being their policy? Their statement in 2017? That pile of bullshit is clearly for people like you, their actions speak louder than words.
Stubbs94@reddit
Hamas offered a two state solution multiple times with the Apartheid state along the 1967 borders.
balvonas11@reddit
“Hamas has never fully “offered” a two-state solution in the traditional sense, but since the early 2000s—especially in 2006 and 2017—it has indicated a willingness to accept a de facto two-state outcome under certain conditions, usually framed as temporary or pragmatic rather than a permanent settlement” Spread your tiktok propoganda elsewhere.
Stubbs94@reddit
So they offered a two state solution then. Would someone wanting to mass murder all Jews accept a compromise with Israel? They offered a truce via a Fatwa. That is something that they would not break.
balvonas11@reddit
“Hamas described this arrangement as a long-term ceasefire (hudna) rather than a permanent resolution. That means it would pause conflict for an extended period without ending its broader claims to all of historic Palestine.” “While accepting those borders in practice, Hamas repeatedly insisted it would not officially recognize Israel as a state.” Educate yourself, it was a proposed cease fire so they can gather their strength, build weapons to continue their eradication mission.
CwazyCanuck@reddit
You’ve not shown that it is their policy. You just claimed it was and quoted the Hadith the 1988 charter quotes, which isn’t about eradicating Jews.
And as I pointed out, Hamas doesn’t specifically target Jews. If and when they do target civilians, they target the general population of Israel, the country illegally occupying Palestine. Their actions do not support the claim that Hamas’ purpose, sole, primary, or secondary, is to eradicate Jews.
Lastly, as others have pointed out, if you are going to reject the 2017 charter, even though much of what Hamas has done since the 90’s aligns with the 2017 charter, because it doesn’t fit your narrative, you’re part of the problem.
kieranjackwilson@reddit
So when they say they want to kill Jews, it is etched in stone but when they say they are focused on Zionists, it should be ignored.
So you actually want Hamas to kill Jews...
You aren’t even hiding it. If Hamas released a statement today saying they are targeting Jews in general, would you tell us to ignore it? No, you would probably celebrate.
Stubbs94@reddit
Well, that's just completely false.

protomenace@reddit
To remind you of the context, Hamas had invaded Israel and killed over 1000 people.
Hamas were:
✅ Arabs
✅ Invaders
IdiAmini@reddit
Yes, exactly as I said: Lumping in one terrorist group (Hamas) together with so many different groups with different cultures etc is racist as fuck
The fact you can't even recognize this just shows how incredibly racist you are
protomenace@reddit
By your own logic in this comment:

No, I said "Jewish terrorist, not Jews. And Haganah, Lehi etc were Jewish terrorists groups, plain and simple
Now, if you said "Palestinian terrorists when talking about Hamas, you would be neither racist nor incorrect because Hamas is a Palestinian terrorist group.
And notice, when you say Arab when talking about one certain subculture you are lumping in a whole lot of different cultures with that one subculture.
How many different subcultures did I lump in by saying Jewish terrorist? See the difference?
It really is not that hard
protomenace@reddit
I said Arab invaders
You're backed into a corner. You're now arguing 100% on pride and refusing to be "wrong" in the debate.

No, Arab = including a whole lot of subcultures that had nothing to do with it.
Why is this so hard to understand for you?

Jewish = a whole lot of subcultures that had nothing to do with it. Why is this so hard to understand for you?
protomenace@reddit
And what comment did I edit? You are making all kinds of wild accusations at me with nothing behind them. You are letting your hatred blind you.
IdiAmini@reddit
You know people can see when you edit a comment after the first minute, yes? The comment gets a little *
protomenace@reddit
What's your point? Why don't you point to the comment I edited and tell the class what it said before?
IdiAmini@reddit
I will just point to the class that you edit almost every comment after one minute without acknowledging those edits so the class can figure out for themselves how dishonest they think that is
protomenace@reddit
I tend to correct typos immediately after I make a comment. It's my toxic trait. Sue me.
IdiAmini@reddit
Sure, almost every comment and always after one minute.
Guess you are REALLY slow at reading?
And I'm the pope
protomenace@reddit
I have autism
IdiAmini@reddit
Yes, and I'm the pope
Silly excuses
protomenace@reddit
How did I lump anything together with anyone? Is Hamas Arab or not?
IdiAmini@reddit
Yes, but Arab is not Hamas. You really didn't finish elementary school did you?
We are all vertebrae. Guess we humans are the same as whales now?
You are bad at this
protomenace@reddit
If some whales swam into the tank and I said "Some vertebrates just swam into the tank" it would still be a correct statement.
If some whales swam into the tank and I said "some humans swam into the tank" it would not be correct.
It's funny you are accusing me of not finishing elementary school when you can't handle basic object classification.
✅ Hamas invaded Israel in 2023
✅ Arabs invaded Israel in 2023
❌ Egyptians invaded Israel in 2023
Hamas and Egyptians are both Arabs. But Hamas are not Egyptians.
IdiAmini@reddit
It would be a correct, but racist statement though. Because saying vertebrae would mean it COULD be humans that swam into the tank. And may I remind you it's not something inconspicuous like "swimming into a tank" you put on all Arabs instead of a certain Arabic group by saying "Arabs" instead of the actual group you are referencing
Damn, I learned this when I was 10 years old
protomenace@reddit
So to be clear, these two comments you made are racist right?
https://www.reddit.com/r/HistoryGaze/comments/1srwebr/comment/ohnmcsq/
https://www.reddit.com/r/worldevents/comments/18v7d0e/comment/kftmnew/
IdiAmini@reddit
No, because they were not part of any other group. This is not that difficult. Or you somehow want to make the claim that Zionists in that time were a distinct cultural group
rattleandhum@reddit
lol wow he really triggered you. Clownish behaviour.
Not because you used the word arab, but because you're spreading blood libel and lies.
protomenace@reddit
What lie did I spread? Name a single lie?
bradicality@reddit
before you start arguing with pro-Israeli trolls
Prosthemadera@reddit
Where is the racism? That is how the guy looks like. Posting photos of Israelis is not racist.
Also, who gives a shit? That guy is a psycho.
protomenace@reddit
The racism is finding one ugly picture of an Israel and implying all Israelis look like this ugly caricature.
It has the same energy of this https://jimcrowmuseum.ferris.edu/antiblack/index.htm or this https://antisemitism.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Antisemitic-imagery-May-2020.pdf
KaiBahamut@reddit
He's not an ugly caricature he's a real person.
protomenace@reddit
So were Sarah Baartman and Ota Benga.
KaiBahamut@reddit
Exactly. Except he's also a terrorist, not a victim of colonial racism.
loggy_sci@reddit
Just say that you stop caring about racism when you think it supports anti-Zionism.
KaiBahamut@reddit
He's literally a real guy, it's not racist to point he's a real person and is part of a violent criminal movement. He didn't have to join that movement, his genes didn't force him to become a terrorist. You're the one being racist by assuming Jew=Zionist.
loggy_sci@reddit
Good thing that was not what PkInt was doing.
KaiBahamut@reddit
https://www.instagram.com/p/DXFBtM7DLOf/?img_index=1
He's an armed thug trying to intimidate locals, at a time when settlers were destroying olive trees and in this specific instance, intimidating the locals to stop the olive harvest. You know, like a terrorist would.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/israeli-palestinian-italian-magazine/
Since he is a terrorist, I call upon Israel to deliver justice via 2000 bomb pound on his terrorist compound.
loggy_sci@reddit
I am against settlers and agree that they terrorize Palestinians. WOW look I was able to say that without resorting to caricatures and racist tropes.
KaiBahamut@reddit
...he's not a caricature or a racist trope. He's... literally a human. He's right there, on video. With a gun, bullying unarmed locals. I'm sure if I asked you if Hamas terrorists should be stopped before they kill someone with a bomb, you'd be all for it, right? So why are you getting cold feet when I ask for Israel to punish a terrorist in the same way they would punish Hamas terrorist? Do you support terrorism?
Prosthemadera@reddit
OP didn't imply that at all, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Why do you guy suddenly seem to see racism everywhere when it comes to Israelis?
No one mentioned Jews. Just you. You're the only one who has racist thoughts.
protomenace@reddit
"The real racist is the one who notices racism"
Prosthemadera@reddit
I said there was no racism so suggesting I said OP noticed racism makes no sense. Think before commenting.
protomenace@reddit
You said "You're the only one who has racist thoughts." to me. I noticed OP's racism, and you accused me of racism for noticing it.
Prosthemadera@reddit
You didn't notice OP's racism. That is the point. You are making it up because you want to see racism because you have nothing else to offer. You don't care how brutal and violent the guy in the photo is, you care about concern trolling people on Reddit because you actually think posting a photo of an Israeli is racist.
Since you're just repeating the same thing I think we are done here. Believe whatever you want but just remember that when people like you shout racism that's not being taken seriously anymore. Normal people hate settlers, get used to it.
protomenace@reddit
Fuck settlers. I hate the settlers too. But if you all think it's fine to act like the worst, most extreme members of a given society or religion or culture that you hate are representative of that culture, don't be surprised when people stop caring about "progressive" causes when you can't be bothered to stick to your own principles.
Double standards are not standards at all.
Suasx@reddit
This is the exact quote, which to you means "all Israelis". Which is pretty fucking racist man (plot twist!).
Its hilarious how you are blind to your own projection though.
amobishoproden@reddit
Bruhhh, hahahahahahaha god fucking damnit what a permanent victim complex huh?
coffee-slut@reddit
Hard for this entire sub
Decent_Cheesecake_29@reddit
Imagine how someone must feel for being so ugly that posting their picture gets declared to be racism.
Maeglom@reddit
The pictured dude is a terrorist, so fuck his feelings.
Decent_Cheesecake_29@reddit
It’s really funny how casually Zionists are insulting him and his appearance. But not his actions of course. They completely support those.
EtaTilanhaSafaida@reddit
tbh I don't see any mention of inbreeding? from my perspective you're the one who brought it up
protomenace@reddit
I brought it up? When did I bring it up? This guy brought it up: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime_titties/comments/1szu0mh/comment/oj4my1y/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I wasn't born yesterday. It's obvious what you guys are all doing, and I have no patience for it. All of these downvotes are just leftists showing their true colors as usual.
You all claim to be against bigotry, prejudice, etc. But you can't extend those principles to certain groups of people, and it's painfully obvious.
EtaTilanhaSafaida@reddit
idk man I'm not as online in these circles as you seem to be. what I see is you jumping in defense of israel/israeli ppl in a thread about they committing yet another crime. seems you take this issue to a degree of importance that shades everything else, makes ppl wonder why you so ready to take this stance
protomenace@reddit
If someone posted a video about a black man robbing a store and the comment section was full of people posting racist memes and making racist comments, would you be in that thread asking why I find the issue important?
For the Jewish people, antisemitism isn't just a series of isolated insults, it is a historical pattern that has repeatedly led to mass expulsion and attempted extermination. Because this history is so consistent across different centuries and societies, there is a deep-seated understanding that unchecked rhetoric is often the first step toward systemic violence. Calling it out isn't about deflecting from current events. it's about ensuring that a history of persecution doesn't repeat itself.
EtaTilanhaSafaida@reddit
I get your point in general but specifically what I'm saying is maybe a funeral isn't the right place to say the murderer isn't as bad
discographyA@reddit
I don’t think it’s racist to be against inbreeding, unless you’re arguing inbreeding is an inherently racial characteristic which would seem like a stretch.
protomenace@reddit
The racism is implying that all Israelis are inbred 🙄
Prosthemadera@reddit
Literally no one has implied that. Just you. You were the one who thought that. OP posted a photo of an Israeli and your mind went to "inbred".
protomenace@reddit
These two implied it: https://www.reddit.com/r/anime_titties/comments/1szu0mh/comment/oj4my1y/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Me noticing their implication doesn't mean I'm the one who implied it lmao.
Youi can do whatever you want but if you are going to use that photo to imply something about all israelis, yes you're racist.
Prosthemadera@reddit
No one did that, just you.
A totally random sentence at the end of your comment.
Shane-8300@reddit
What allegations?
cropduster102@reddit
its harder for far more people than it should be.
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
Israel just upped its propaganda budget to three quarters of a billion dollars. Chances are everyone that is pushing Israeli talking points is paid to do so.
Phenergan_boy@reddit
Not just Israel, there are a lot of ultra wealthy people who are interested in erasing Israel’s crime. For example, Larry Ellison spent a lot of money to put Bari Weiss in as CBS’ editor in chief who been purging people like Claire Day for the coverage of the conflicts that Israel is involved in.
amobishoproden@reddit
Fuck these hasbara fuckers.
Pklnt@reddit
It's funny seeing all the mental gymnastics to determine that what I said is somehow racist, but then you look at what they say and you realize that it was just projection lmao
NationCrusher@reddit

HockeyHocki@reddit
Have to wonder if Hamas will continue to fund flotillas given western media have pretty much given up reporting on this level of performative activism
anusfikus@reddit
What a weird thing to say. What is performative about it?
MouseJiggler@reddit
Everything.
anusfikus@reddit
You think risking being beaten, captured, starved, and denied necessary healthcare in Israeli prison is performative?? You think the previous trips weren't real or anything other than an act??
What world do you live in??
MouseJiggler@reddit
You mean "detained, given a sandwich, and deported"?
anusfikus@reddit
That is simply untrue. Why don't you read the news and listen to their testimonies before you assume what happened?
MouseJiggler@reddit
Because their testimonies are not trustworthy.
anusfikus@reddit
In what way are they not trustworthy?
SirStupidity@reddit
Well for example after the last flotilla Greta, a Swedish (very cold country) person in Israel (a fairly warm country), said that this happened:
"– It was freezing cold. We were wearing T-shirts."
Which seemed sus to me so I went ahead and checked the temperatures in Ashdod on October 3rd, during day time it was 35 Celsius, during night time 22 Celsius.
If you ask me, these volunteers believe they are doing something very noble and for a larger cause so that makes them willing to lie or at the very least very much exaggerate in order to advance that cause.
anusfikus@reddit
Seriously? This assumption of yours doesn't mean anything in reality. Especially considering they weren't even in Ashdod at the time, they were being transported to Ketziot prison which is located in a desert where temperatures fluctuate a lot more.
If you get put in handcuffs, are beaten and sleep deprived, dehydrated and starved, for hours and hours. Then you're put in a small cell in a car, with no possibility of moving around or activating your body, and wearing only a t-shirt, while being driven out into a desert. Do you think in these conditions your body will behave just like normal? Even if it was 20 degrees, you think you wouldn't feel cold?
Come on. If you want to act like you care about the truth then at least read the whole article you're trying to cite and consider what it means.
SirStupidity@reddit
They were in Ashdod port, at least according to her story.
That's what they claimed at least. But we have no proof of that and we have pictures of them being provided with food.
I think i dont believe her story considering it's only by testimony, no evidence, and the only verifiable thing i could find (it was cold out) didn't really check out.
I did, found no evidence and checked the only thing I could and found it sus.
anusfikus@reddit
It's not worth my time discussing anything with you.
The day will come when you too are judged for your actions.
SirStupidity@reddit
You people are so fucking corny lmao
Go touch grass buddy
anusfikus@reddit
And you're from a nation of literal nazis, acting in open view of the world. Lmao.
SirStupidity@reddit
Wow, you've got me now. How can I live with my self after choosing to be born here, so selfish and nazi of me...
Go touch grass, maybe visit some places that aren't Europe buddy.
anusfikus@reddit
The question is how you can live with yourself when you choose to distrust and oppose the people who want your nation to stop committing genocide. Unless you are in favour of the genocide, of course.

As opposed to the truthful IDF testimonies lmao

How so? Their last trip resulted in a ceasefire agreement shortly after
steve-o1234@reddit
What? Correlation does not equal causation. I’m sorry but that is a ridiculous claim to make. One had absolutely nothing to do with the other
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit
You can’t really prove otherwise. It put a huge spotlight on the reality of the situation.
Mark_My_Morphemes@reddit
This is a wild take. YOU have to provide support for the existence of causation. It is not expected for someone to provide support that it didnt happen.
You can't prove my alarm clock didnt cause the sun to rise, therefore I'm going to believe that.
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit
Ok
MouseJiggler@reddit
Yes dear. The burden of proof always and with no exception lies on the one making a claim of causality. That's how basic logic works.
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit
If you want to disprove my claim with your own sources, then be my guest, toots.
loggy_sci@reddit
You also call people toots on your other account. It’s a tell.
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit
Lol what?
Mark_My_Morphemes@reddit
Look, there's a disagreement now on how the general formation of logical thought should occur. So maybe we should either focus there or there is no use.
You truly believe that if you can't outright disprove something, that it means it's true?
To start, do you know the concept of Occam's Razor?
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit

Mark_My_Morphemes@reddit
Okay ill just assume bot unless you can answer.

You havent proven your claim at all.
Nobody needs to disprove a empty claim when you have no sources of your own
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit
Ok
MouseJiggler@reddit
You haven't made a claim.
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit
Lol okay and grass is blue and the sky is green
protomenace@reddit
The flotilla had nothing to do with any ceasefire. It was a photo op for Thunberg, nothing else.
loggy_sci@reddit
This is goofy; like it or not the flotilla brought considerable public attention to Gaza and the blockade
protomenace@reddit
It preached to the choir. Nobody's mind was changed by it.
loggy_sci@reddit
This is cope. No reasonable person can say the blockade didn’t bring attention to the war and Israel’s blockade. Starvation in Gaza was a global headline news story and Kamala Harris gave a speech about it on Bloody Sunday in Selma.
Public opinion towards Israel is changing dramatically, aka people are not just preaching to their choirs. This is true whether or not you support Israel.
protomenace@reddit
What makes you think any of that was due to the flotilla?
amobishoproden@reddit
Showing your true colours there chief.
steve-o1234@reddit
You really shouldn’t be using the word chief in a condescending fashion like that. Straight up racism. For someone who pretends to be against colonialism the way you appropriate language is quite telling
protomenace@reddit
How so, chief?
amobishoproden@reddit
Blatantly lying, you on the Mossad payroll? No one here should believe a single fucking thing coming out of your lying ass mouth.

Compelling and well thought out argument.

Shitty reply, shitty response
NotGalenNorAnsel@reddit
You say this as someone that doesn't want aid to get to Gazans, so why should anyone care what you spew from your face hole?
protomenace@reddit
These flotillas don't contain any significant amount of "aid". Aid is flowing to Gaza just fine.
NotGalenNorAnsel@reddit
No it isn't. Stop lying to defend the intentional starvation of millions.

Prosthemadera@reddit
What do you mean by "performative"?
protomenace@reddit
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/performative
Prosthemadera@reddit
And what's the problem?
Italian_warehouse@reddit
The last (biggest) flotilla had a "symbolic" amount of food/aid. There was a video of one of the main ships (possibly Greta's) with the food stock and it was like one pallet 1m by 1m by 2m tall (3 feet by 3 feet, 6 feet tall.) IDF and Netanyahu (and Hamas) were all starving the citizens of Gaza but these Westerner pleasure cruises are nothing but performative.
CosmicPenguin@reddit
Nothing, I'm sure the millionaires' party boats and their cargo of champagne and caviar would have saved thousands of orphans.
anusfikus@reddit
Your statement is simply not relevant and mostly not true. Yes, some of them are rich, but how does that detract from their actions? Do you need to be poor to protest against a genocide and illegal blockade?
Waldoh@reddit
Irish genocide supporter is wild stuff. Every county has its losers I guess tho
cefriano@reddit
I've noticed some weird stuff going on with flairs in this thread. A user with "Palestine" flair being obviously racist against Arabs and pro-Israel, and another user with "Israel" flair being very critical of Israel. Is one of the mods swapping people's flairs for giggles?
Bruncvik@reddit
We have some weird characters here. There's one lad who's prancing around in Waffen-SS uniform, for example. This poster, if he's indeed from Ireland, likely belongs to the same mob.

Great report, thanks for linking
Prosthemadera@reddit
If you want to make any argument you shouldn't use whatever the Trump regime says. Their goal is to defend Israel.
If your problem is the funding of a violent group then why not apply the same standards to Israel which has caused more death and destruction than Hamas ever could? Because you think that was all justified to stop Hamas.
KaiBahamut@reddit
Okay, just don't come crying to me if they decide to start throwing IDF Sailors into the Mediterranian because you didn't like Peaceniks.
this-aint-Lisp@reddit
"performative" seems to be the Hasbara buzzword of the day. As in all good propaganda, the enemy is at the same time highly dangerous and pathetically weak.
capt_fantastic@reddit
as opposed to performative violence?
Fearless-Feature-830@reddit
Yeah Hamas is famously rich compared to the IDF
wimmick@reddit
Youre some weapon
PickleMortyCoDm@reddit
Imagine an invading force puts a siege-like blockade around your own waters, even seizing stuff in international waters to ensure you starve. That's genocide. People should have a right to receive aid at their own ports.
Israel is a fucking disgrace. It's not just that they shouldn't be getting away with it, they should not be allowed to do it in the first place. This is what pirates do.
CosmicPenguin@reddit
Sounds like some kind of... zone of war.
elihu@reddit
Even wars have rules. To the extent that the war is lawful in the first place, Israel has the right to create a blockade and inspect aid deliveries. If boats carrying aid do not, in fact, carry any weapons, they're obligated to let them through. That's not how Israel's blockade works, though. Israel's blockade is structured to deliberately inflict on Gaza conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part, which is an act of genocide.
CharmCityKid09@reddit
Strictly speaking Israel does allow aid through, not as much as people would like but they do have it go through. Just becuase this flotilla like others shows up to run the blockade doesn't mean Israel is obligated to let them through. Just as Israel is not obligated to let every group claiming to be apart of humanitarian efforts just operate in the area (MSF). As convoluted as the checkpoints are they meet the barest minimum requirements the law has.
As the mere moment someone on board the flotilla gets seasick near the border 3/4 of this sub and others will immediately claim that Israel poisoned them. Or if they experience violence from Hamas there will be accusations that Israel let it happen or just did it themselves. They know this and people here are that dishonest to lie about believing the most obvious propaganda possible.
Whether you think there's some ulterior motive or not Israel rightly so doesn't trust outside entities anymore especially from the UN and international agencies don't trust Israel and both have only each other to blame for that.
elihu@reddit
Israel lets some aid in, some of the time. It's not sufficient.
The San Remo manual says this:
Those are some pretty broad powers that the blockading party has to micromanage how aid is delivered, but not among them is the right to deny entry of food or other objects essential for the population's survival into the territory. I suppose this might be construed to give them a right to block neutral aid ships, provided they have some process by which the contents of those ships can reach their intended destination in a timely matter -- but again, Israel is outright blocking large amounts of aid.
CharmCityKid09@reddit
The overall point is that they do, when often times the accusation is that they don't allow any aid at all. No one is making an argument that what and when they do is sufficient. This sub is really bad at trying to read into things people don't say. The provisions you reference does give Israel the ability to control entry.
As both Hamas and Israel both have deliberately shown that they are not as careful as possible with neutral parties. Israel as the dominant power in control probably should restrict access. Good intentions or not random people entering an active combat zone put themselves and the locals at risk.
As I said had nothing happened and any ill be fell this latest attempt at breaking the blockade likely you and others would be outraged Israel didn't protect them.
SpontaneousFlame@reddit
It’s interesting that those proponents of genocide get so upset when the other side is murdered. Almost like they’ve got some kind of double standard…
SirStupidity@reddit
The blockade has been active for almost 19 years. Doesn't seem that this method of supposed genocide is effective.
elihu@reddit
Thing is, there is an actual process where in war a country can enforce a blockade and inspect all aid shipments into the country. Israel has gone way past that, though. They don't have a right to block legitimate aid outright or to raid boats nowhere near the blockade.
PickleMortyCoDm@reddit
Yet they can abduct peoplemfor transport of food and medical aid? I am sorry, I would be against the flotilla if they were transporting anything which directly benefited.Hamas... but show me what they were transporting that directly benefits hamas? Food? Medicine? Are you saying 100 Palestinians have to die just to get at one Hamas rebel who already has access to food? Genocide is not a good look
elihu@reddit
I don't think you understand what I said. Israel does not have any right to block aid into Gaza. At the most, they have a right to demand that they be allowed to inspect aid shipments to prevent actual weapons from being smuggled in. They've gone way past that by limiting the type and quantity of aid and refusing to allow aid groups they don't like (including MSF) to operate. Their treatment of the crews of the last flotilla was horrible, and indirectly drew attention to the fact that the Israeli prison system is inhumane and sadistic.
elihu@reddit
Israel's government seems to be testing what they can get away with. If European leaders don't respond to this, what will they try next? I mean, there's pretty strong evidence they dropped incendiaries on the last flotilla.
Last time around, Italy and Spain sent ships to escort the flotilla in international waters, which may have prevented the boats from being attacked any further until they got close to Gaza and the escorts broke off. Apparently they didn't have a similar escort this time around.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Sumud_Flotilla#Further_strikes_and_naval_vessels_dispatched
Catalani@reddit
Huh, that's a weird way of saying "Israeli pirates steal ships en masse on foreign waters". The world is watching and will remember western nations being enablers of these absolute ghouls.
baeb66@reddit
Somebody posted a video earlier from the floatilla. It was the radio message the interceptors sent to the floatilla. The interceptors claimed the floatilla was violating international law by trying to break their blockade. 600 nautical miles away and they were quoting international law.
Hilarious. Irony is dead.
Ging287@reddit
Genocide denial and perpetuation seems unusually common in the 21st century. "We don't like the victim" we know, that's the problem, laundering the excuse, and failing to recognize reality: people are dying of a human made famine and no one is doing anything about it. ICC needs to hurry the fuck up and deliver its findings.
adminofreditt@reddit
Israel should let them into Gaza and then not let them get to Israel so they are stuck in Gaza.
That's way everyone get what they wanted, they get to go to gaza and Israel doesn't have to deal with them because they would probably get killed of
Prosthemadera@reddit
Killed by whom? Israel. That is Israel "dealing" with them. But being killed by Israel is not what they wanted.
I don't know how you can so casually talk about people being killed as if it's nothing.
adminofreditt@reddit
The people of Gaza are starving, do you think anyone is gonna let foreigners take their food? Ones all food and money is taken from them by armed groups they will probably die
Prosthemadera@reddit
You think they were planning to go to Gaza without any rations and were expecting to stock up at the local supermarket or what?
adminofreditt@reddit
Do you think starving people won't take their rations? Every one of them have been starving for months it's a wonder they are still alive, they don't have fuel, food water medicine shelter, ones people come with does things do you think they will just take the aid they ate given and let them leave with RATIONS? they are STARVING, every one of them, the fortilla didn't bring food for all of Gaza, and all of Gaza will want the food on those ships
Prosthemadera@reddit
I don't know but I don't think they're all zombies willing to use violence for food.
That's Israel's fault.
FormerLawfulness6@reddit
There are many foreign volunteers working in Gaza. There have been no reports of attacks on them. All of the ones who spoke to media described how Palestinians were willing to share whatever they had, even if they were splitting a can of beans between multiple people.
But your apparent glee that humanitarian volunteers and civilians should be intentionally starved is noted and gross.
capt_fantastic@reddit
so we've added piracy to the list.
HockeyHocki@reddit
You'd wonder will Hamas continue to fund flotillas given western media have pretty much given up reporting on these performative activists.
