When a Citroen just won't work, because you don't want a hatchback.

Am I crazy, or is this a 1993-1996 Cadillac Fleetwood? Like I know it isn’t, especially from the other pictures. But look at that first 3/4 picture and tell me someone didn’t just try to make a Cybepunk-style custom out of one of these.
The roofline, tumblehome, windshield angle, and the shape of the front door window are uncanny.

Pininfarina had a bad day on this one, must have been the day after new years :)

i thought everything out of pininfarina was good, but now i'm not so sure
ImaginedUtopia@reddit

That had to be from their "Car Designer for a day" initiative 🤣. Proper bottom of the barrel design

The Chevrolet Tacuma exists 😅🤣

It actually looks like a boat.

Now this is WEIRD. Doug Demuro would go crazy over this

Oh, boy, you're not wrong!
Absolutely plug-fugly, but still charming and cool in a way that only something from that period could be. Ultimately, it's two (or possibly three) cars bolted together - a quite attractive Maserati-esque front third and then an abrupt shift of style, akin to something Citröen might've come up with in a fever dream.
Willing_Big194@reddit
The side profile isnt even that bad lol.
And its wankel engined so that automatically makes it cool.
russbii@reddit
That shot of the rear though? Woooooof. What a weird looking thing.
Willing_Big194@reddit
Haha for sure. Would never call it elegant but its also not that ugly

“THIS…okay, what the heck is this?”

He wouldn’t refuse it unless it’s for sale on Cars and Bids.

Is this the designer BMW hired for their modern designs?
TurloIsOK@reddit
That interior is straight out of Diabolique
bollockstoreddit@reddit
Very right and very wrong at the same time.

This does give me vibes of the Aston Martin Lagonda.
PhilosophyOk4802@reddit
I see many visual parallels — both inside and out—to the Peugeot 504 Coupé/Cabrio and the much later Peugeot 604...

The Ro80 was the most unnecessary to put other experimental bodies on. It was perfect in its imperfections already.

The more I look at this, the more I appreciate the talent of Claus Luthe.
