Who are the best heavy metal bands that have come out of the Balkans?

Hello lovely Balkan redditors,

I am a metalhead from the UK looking for new bands to love and to rock to while I am travelling through the Balkans soon 🩷

I would so appreciate any recommendations of bands to check out. I like all kinds of styles from death to symphonic to dance and alt metal.

Are there any metal/rock bars I could check out that you like going to?

I cannot wait to come back, two weeks today I get on my flight! 🩷

Greece has plenty of pretty known bands for all tastes. Rotting Christ, Septic Flesh, Firewind, Universe 217, Mother of Million, Naxatras, Villagers of Ioannina, Planet of Zeus, Suicidal Angels, Sarissa, Varathron, Need, Dead Congregation, Nightstalker, Hail Spirit Noir, War Dance, Sacral Rage, Macabre Omen, Sacred Outcry, Innerwish, Arrayan Path (Cyprus) etc etc etc.

Turkey has one of my favorite metal bands. Pentagram/Mezarkabul

I think best yugoslav metal rock band is Divlje Jagode (Wild Strawberries), their stuff is top notch and they got lot of good songs, worth diving into. Here is one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP3JdHIdVwU

Balkan is one of best regions in the world for music I believe. Every genre you got incredible stuff. There is lot more good rock music. Mostly more like folk rock, pop rock, or bit towards punk style. If you don't know the language it gonna be harder to vibe too. But Bijelo Dugme, Azra,... there is like bunch of them, you can google and see what you vibe too.
