Nikoschalkis1@reddit
What's the story about on the first one liljani?
HumanMan00@reddit
The band no longer exists and the mostly did modern metal.
Before they broke up they did two ethnometal songs, cover of Macedonian song Jovka Kumanovka and this one which is an original piece. It's basically a funeral song:
Pusta goro da l' bi bila Mome dragom mati mila,
Desolete mountain would you be To my darling mother dear
Studen' vodom milovala, Rosnim poljem pokrivala,
Caress him with cold water Cover him with mildewed field
Majko moja...?
Oh my mother?
Tu mi moje drago spava, Pod kamenom zlatna glava.
Thats where my darling sleeps Under a rock a golden head
Žalna li si majko stara, Što ga skriva zelen' trava?
Are you moraning old mother That with green grass he is covered
Drago moje... Zlato moje...
My dear.. my gold..
Uspavaj ga pesmo moja!
Oh my song make him sleep!

No biggie dude - i love this kind of stuff. Means our cultures acutually live not just paraded around as trophies. 🙂
xesnoteleks@reddit
We should make a festival of all of these balkan folk rock bands
HumanMan00@reddit
You'd have to really watch who has access to the concerts. 😔 imahine if your average nayionalists met at this kind of event.
xesnoteleks@reddit
eh, they usually don't visit these sorts of festivals. but we'd be sharing free weed so they'd all just chill
SabziZindagi@reddit
Nice, thank you!
Lonely-Sunbed-2508@reddit
We have Villagers Of Ioannina City among others
IlijaHornjak@reddit

Man, i fucking love that band. Can't wait for the new album. I haven't been so excited about new music for a very long time.
IlijaHornjak@reddit

Vice Versa - Kraken
Mix of traditional Dalmatian "klapa" music (Acapella group singing & mandolin) and metal.
rewarrr@reddit
It’s not Balkan, but this guy uses a lot of Balkan instruments and an overall Balkan atmosphere. His name is Egorr. Check this for example : Houmous
BaroqueGod@reddit
maybe Milan Stankovic
TurkOmbre@reddit
I've never understood why Hayko Cepkin has so many fans, I find his work really bad and low-quality.
Specific-Taste7469@reddit
Among local artists in the country, his shows are in a league of their own. Whether you like his music or not, that’s a fact.
BurgurluGenc031@reddit (OP)
why so?
TurkOmbre@reddit
His songs and music are so bad and weird
yamankara@reddit
It's really bad and weird to call art weird.
Baturing@reddit
What a stupid thing to say about something so personal and subjective.
sht-magnet@reddit
It is very subjective. People seem to like his work. (At least in 2010s he was super famous.)
Quarvoynne@reddit
That's a personal opinion, that's why. Everyone has their own opinions.
tabulasomnia@reddit
he's a great guy tho
TurkOmbre@reddit
Are you talking about his personality or his works?
tabulasomnia@reddit
personality/public image. his music always leaves something to be desired, at least for me.
TurkOmbre@reddit
Kindness alone is not enough to excel in this world (Maybe in another world)
Far_EasternRo@reddit
Subcarpati in Ro, I think.
Sea_Stomach5930@reddit
Kries, in Croatia
HumanMan00@reddit
I cant decide if i like Kries or Veja more.

The Goats Dragostea Din Tei are always fun. Moldova is Balkans right. I dont know for sure tbh.

Gavranovi (or "Ravens" in English) is an interesting one.

BurgurluGenc031@reddit (OP)
Sounds like modern viking war music. Definitely gonna add it to my music library.
xesnoteleks@reddit
It's gusle and black metal. Works surprisingly well together.
Final-Nebula-7049@reddit
my favorite would be Mogollar, Yeni Turku, and to some extent Bulutsuzluk Ozlemi.
Hyllius1@reddit
I believe "Grupi Jericho" does a good job. Their genre is rock but they mix in traditional instruments and tones too.

TanktopSamurai@reddit
If we go a bit more modern, Dedublüman is very good as well. Their inclusion of clarinet is Anatolia rock is superb.
slysmile@reddit
I'd go with Pentagram before Hayko.
Here's one of the best performances of their (in my opinion) best song from a concert in 2007: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0SPAIISVyA

Ahhhhhh wait a minute good one,ı only listened once but now ı gonna start to listen again. Thx for reminding and advice.
