I9 14900KF with CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D15 G2?

Hello folks. I want to upgrade my cpu from I7 12700KF to I9 14900KF but I have some issue with the cooling. My I7 right now have AIO 240mm (which is works so good with 240mm) but, I search for about 1-2 hours about 14900KF and works so hot and I have some dificulties with my case won't support 360mm AIO so I found a "cheap" way to buy an Noctua NH-D15 G2 but I don't know if will support the I9 14900KF. So i'm asking you reddit if this cooler worth any peny. Thank you!

Most 240mm AIOs will outperform the D15. What type of workloads, though? If it's just gaming, then you're fairly unlikely to be thermal throttling with either solution. If you'e doing all-core work, then you'll definitely want a liquid cooler.
As long as its not throttling, the actual temperature doesn't really matter though.

Not exactly. Cooling surface on the normal 240mm AIOs (30 mm radiator) is smaller than the cooling surface from a D15. The G2 also has more heat pipes which helps. Higher performance 240mm AIOs usually have a thicker radiator (38mm) which can bring them on par with the D15.
The D15 is, however, much more sensitive to the case ventilation.

Fair, it is a bit more complex. I've typically seen then ahead as especially when put on intake + a GPU dumping heat into the case they perform better.

You have a PL1/2 setting in bios. That is used to limit the power used to match your cooling solution. Combine this with undervolting/tuning and you can get a nice cool running system

If you don't need an AIO for the i9, then you don't need the i9 in the first place as you won't be running heavy CPU workloads. It's just an upgrade for upgrades sake.

Works perfectly fine for normal (including gaming) workloads. I've no issues with my old D15.
