Non-firing Models

Hello! I love firearms but I'm not currently in the position to start collecting actual live-firing guns. I have a model 1851 Colt Navy but my problem with it is that it's just a hunk of metal with a cylinder. I would like non-firing replicas that are like fully articulated / can be fully field stripped.
If it helps the main models I'm looking for are revolvers, usually older and interesting revolvers like the 1851 Colt Navy or the H&R 922 .22lr. Thank you in advance for any help!

Denix make full size replicas that are non firing.

Thank you, I'll check them out. Do you know if they're able to be taken apart as well?

generally if its fully able to be field stripped then its not deactivated, I guess the barrel could be plugged but they'd also do something so that you'd not actually be able to load ammo in it and fire it , as that would be dangerous.
You're kind of asking for something that doesnt really exist.
Like why wouldn't you just get the actual antique guns you want? Black powder isnt even regulated as firearms, at least in the USA. You could also get your C&R FFL, which is like $35 and requires an easy application that is almost always approved (so long as you're not a prohibited person). Then you can get 50+ year old guns delivered directly to you.

I didn't know that! Definitely helpful for the older black powder guns, thank you

Country/state would help quite a bit. That said, most places I know about, for what you're looking for will be about the same price as a functional firearm.
Making what you are looking for is just about as expensive as making an actual firearm, and unless you are in a place that highly restricts them, you might as well save for the real deal.

I live in Hawaii which has stricter gun laws, I don't necessarily care about it being the same price I just want to own firearms without having the restrictions by getting non-firing replicas

What you really want are Japanese-made model guns, though you can also get air pistol replicas of cowboy revolvers which, depending on jurisdiction don’t count as firearms. If you don’t put a CO2 canister in them they’re totally inert, but tend to take dummy shells and dry fire, cycle etc like the real thing.

Unless you're in the UK that has a market for that stuff there's very little for deactivated or non-firing but "functional" reproductions.
Airsoft is pretty much it, many are perfect for manipulation, weight and feel are pretty off usually, similarity for disassembly is right out.

if you are held back by age, black powder guns are one place to look
if it's legal concerns, airsoft and air guns can be surprisingly realistic in both form and function
