How much is the round trip if I’m travelling out say 8am and returning 5pm? I normally buy a ticket from Uber but maybe it’s cheaper to PAYG, can’t work out the pricing
Also travelling a zone 1-3 return in London if that makes any difference

Are you using a ticket with a travelcard for the onward journey in London or are you just tapping in and our and paying for that separately?
FYI a Network railcard is only valid after 10am so be careful if you're using it on a ticket before this time. It's a bit of a flawed system because it still allows you to purchase anytime tickets that look valid with a discount but if your ticket is checked, you might be made to purchase a new one.

I normally travel from MKC but today went in from Bletchley.
From MKC you can use a network railcard on the way home, but not outbound. £42 return then the zone 1-2 journey twice (£6ish)
From Bletchley you can’t use the railcard as there’s no off peak, so a bit more expensive, but maybe the combination of train and underground is cheaper via contactless ..

Off peak at Bletchley is the first train that arrives into London after 10am (So basically the 9.40am). If you use a network railcard the 10.10am is the first train you can get. That return journey costs £15.45 with a railcard or £19.90 with a travelcard. Appreciate it might not be possible but if you're able to get into London later, it is a steal of a saving.

£51 return.
Network Railcard is not valid before 10

Funny how it’s ended up cheaper to from MKC (£42)

Yes possible slightly cheaper to buy an off peak single back to MKC with your Railcard.
The outbound single in the morning is cheaper from Bletchley.

Yeah bletchley is weird. It's often vastly cheaper to get mkc tickets especially on off-peak or super off-peak, you just have to make sure you're not getting Avanti and tickets.
Also, sometimes depending on your Railcard a peak single mkc to Euston and a single back to bletchley. I usually run all the possible combinations to work it out, saves me a couple of quid each day.

Im normally £55-60 excluding railcard when I go down for work. Roughly the timings you have mentioned.
