I wonder if they'll do anything about Florida's red flag laws or if that's gonna have to be a supreme court thing.

The ATF is still mega gay and needs to go away. #1 and 3 are just forced compliance from court decisions that they lost. #7, 9, 11, and 15 are genuinely useful rollbacks of power so that's cool I guess. The ATF is still trying to ruin the FRT by deputizing private companies to indirectly pursue its goals as an agency that were previously struck down in court. If you aren't familiar with the situation surrounding Rare Breed (Bare Greed) and its suits against Tim Hoffman and Partisan Triggers, Id look into that. Its pretty disgusting what the ATF continues to do and I think needs a lot more attention than it gets.

Oh for sure, abolish the ATF 100% - its mere existence is a blatant violation of the United States Constitution. Nothing other than total abolition of the ATF (not just repeal over the NFA) is acceptable. Just because Iām pleased with a bread crumbās worth of liberty doesnāt mean Iām not still starving for the whole meal š

Former Soviet Bloc countries (other than Russian Federation) can now Import guns and ammo, for one thing.
barrydingle100@reddit
I'd bet Ukraine will have a whole lot of guns and ammo to sell when the war peters out. I don't know if it'll be as cheap as Wolf and Tula were but I bet magdumping garbage with 7.62 and 5.56 will be back on the menu again.
bownt1@reddit
how did we go from "defund the atf, rules are not laws" to "yeah look at these neat new rules!" ?
KilldozerPrincess@reddit (OP)
Dawg Iām an attorney, I canāt just be out here breaking federal firearms regulations even though I agree they are entirely unconstitutional and utterly bullshit
bownt1@reddit
wtf are you talking about?
SolenoidsOverGears@reddit
Burn the ATF to the ground. Also, if we have control of a government agency, what's wrong with employing people to that agency to reverse bad policy if we can't delete the agency?
Yeah, I think we would all love to gut the ATF like a fish with a machete. But Congress is still going to insist on funding it so we might as well make hay when the sun shines.
yem68420@reddit
You say that as if breaking the law is no longer an option. Or like gun laws are new.
If you were already breaking the law and had a stock on your āpistolā I imagine that it is harder to get caught now that engraving is no longer required

āRevising machine gun definitionā = goodbye frtās
Probably-Not-A-Fed@reddit
1140-AA60: Revising Machine Gun Definition in Response to Supreme Court Decision - FINAL RULE ATF is removing two sentences from its three regulatory definitions of "machine gun" that previously incorporated bump stocks into those definitions. This action responds directly to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Garland v. Cargill (2024), which held that semiautomatic rifles equipped with bump stocks do not satisfy the statutory definition of "machine gun" under the National Firearms Act. This rescission aligns ATF's regulatory text with the statute and the Court's binding legal interpretation.
amateurchampion@reddit
Oh. Based.
FunnymanEcho@reddit
new soviet bloc imports would be neat
Gunnit-Collector@reddit
I tell you hwat, this better not be no late April fool's day joke from the atf. Some of this has been long over due.
KilldozerPrincess@reddit (OP)
Itās not a done deal by any means (these are just proposed rule changes for discussion) but I imagine these will be approved. I hope anyway!
xxlragequit@reddit
They'll come for the guns soon enough, it would even take congress. Last time he tried to make thousands of America felons for owning a bump stock, through executive order. Just wait, maybe it'll be after midterms but make no mistake he'll be coming.
KilldozerPrincess@reddit (OP)
I know youāre right. But let me be excited about not paying for engraving for like on day before you rain on my parade mister

But the rain is always yellow.
