Chinese e-bike are so annoying.

My e-bike throttle and PAS both stopped working at the same time, but the display still turns on. I’m thinking the controller is fried.
Problem is my bike uses a 10-pin connector (everything runs through it), and I can’t find any replacement controllers with the same connections.
Bike specs: 36V, 350W.
Do I:
Try to rewire (no experience), or
Just buy a full controller + display + throttle kit?
Is there any way to find a matching controller, or is replacing everything the only option?

That's a lot of pins. We've had one, yes, but what about second cathode?!

Did you try disconnecting the brake switches? The fact both the pas and throttle went out at the same time sounds like the brake switch is stuck or wire is shorted. The switch cuts power to the motor and is a common fail point.

I had that problem. My throttle/horn uses a 5 pin that connects to a group of 5 cables that go into 1. I couldn't find that 5-1 with a 5 pin throttle anywhere. The company that made it had one though and it was under warranty. I lucked out and hopefully you can have some luck too

Why people buy Chinese bike?
SilkyMousse@reddit
Why American not make own bike that ships to door for less than $1000?!
Trick question; you already know the answer to that.
International-Mud418@reddit
I don’t know to many things about Americans. I live in Europe and I have only 4 Dutch bicycles one of them is electric.

What ebike doesn't have Chinese components? Name 1, with zero Chinese components.
International-Mud418@reddit
My Gazelle :) . Dutch frame & fork. Seat made in Italy. Shifter and brake by shimano Japan/Taiwan. Wheels made in France. Tyres Continental made in Europe. Oh… I also have an Batavus with no China parts.
Just-Smart-Enough@reddit
Pretty sure Stromer is entirely sourced in Taiwan.

The problem isn't Chinese, the problem is bottom of the barrel cheap junk. Plenty of quality components are made in China, they just cost more.
Responsible_Earth393@reddit
Just don’t buy those shit ebikes then
James-B0ndage@reddit
Hate to be the one to break it to you, but 90% of e-bikes are Chinese.

You can buy the whole rear wheel kit (hub, controller, throttle, display) for under $300 with already matching components and splice and solder XT90 connectors to the battery and the controller. But those pins in the second photo look pretty standard for those kits, so you might be able to get away without the motor if you think it still works fone
According-Lock8515@reddit
don't buy them
Justinreinsma@reddit
Ive had luck contacting sellers on aliexpress with photos, they might be able to match it for you. There is little standardization though, so you have to be careful.
