Are there any mulberry trees in Dallas?

Ngl I just want to pick one and taste it. I’ve never had it before but I’ve been getting a bunch of social media posts and looks like a giant blackberry.
Apparently they grow in USDA growing zones 4-11.
Figured since we’re like 8-9, it should be here somewhere

I got one. They taste very earthy. I eat the purple ones.

I’ve got one in my backyard that is dropping fruit like crazy. DM me if you’re ever near Garland.

How are roots? I am concerned about yard taken over and roots attacking sprinkler and water lines. Recommendations?

It doesn’t taste like a big blackberry, but they’re good! Nuts.com carries them.

Red Mulberry is native to Texas, I have no idea what it tastes like I'll have to buy one; however Black Mulberry absolutely tastes exactly like Blackberry, both my Mulberry and Blackberries are producing right now.

There was one on the Sante Fe trail by Lindsley park. Head towards the lake. I used to walk there and stop for a berry or 10.

Many. Go down to the Trinity forest trail near the Audubon and walk down near the river. They're everywhere along with pecans. In season you can get quite a haul of both.

Very common. Had a big one in my backyard years ago.

They taste great. Used to have one at school and we would pick them off the tree and eat them.

I have great memories of eating the berries off the mulberry bush that grew in our backyard (oak cliff) when I was a kid. So when we bought our first home in fall ‘24 in the same neighborhood where I grew up, I asked my husband if we could plant a couple mulberry trees. We ordered some young trees online and got them in the ground spring ‘25, and they’re thriving! When we had “fake spring” a few weeks ago, one of them actually produced a few berries, even though I didn’t expect to see any fruit until maybe next year. They were delicious! We haven’t gotten anymore since, but I’m hoping it will fruit again this summer. But for sure next year.

Corner of Cabell and N Carroll street. There is also one by the dog park and bball court a few streets over. Lastly, one growing in the side of the ramp getting on to 35 driving from Kyle Warren by the Perot. Super prolific as of last week!

We got one in the front yard. Every year it stains all that come in contact with it. The sidewalk is a minefield.

There some near the dog park at White rock lake. By the bridge
SkepMod@reddit
Start by the dog park and walk south. Any section of the trail with large purple stains in April and May is a mulberry tree in peak season.

Thank you!

They're commonplace, and most typically cut back to their knuckles each year.

Yeah, my neighbor's tree is about to start dropping fruit.
