Are there anymore examples of these Bubba'd SKS rifles being used in Ukraine? I assumed there would be a lot of them floating around because Ukraine is an Ex-Soviet Country, and where there's an AK, the SKS isn't too far behind, but there's little information I could find about them in Ukraine

There are a few examples but all of them are from the early days of the war.The SKS isn’t a common weapon among either side these days.

Weren't they handling these out to anyone who would take them right after the full invasion?
Not sure of them being modified, but I seem to remember seeing a video of them being handed out the back of a truck to a small crowd of people in civilian clothes
lojafan@reddit
I remember seeing video of AK variants being handed out in Kyiv.

me in PUBG with my SKS:
mratlas666@reddit
Reminds me of the one from Arma. Op-SKS I think they call it?
mk_ultra_sleeper@reddit
Pubg is kinda a standalone mod of Arma, like Day z iirc.
Op-sks is what theyre sold as in Russia, basically meaning "hunting"
The pic and the one in pubg (iirc) have the tapco stock.
mratlas666@reddit
Must be cause I’ve never played PubG. But I am a ARMA and spinoffs/mods fan.

I hope they have good marksmanship training there, and this is just a promo image or something, because this leaves a lot to be desired in terms of best practice. Though mostly it's that garbage scope mounting.
Can this soldier still aim after 10 minutes of this hold, with bad shoulder placement, bad LOP, bad forehand - (especially bad for weak arms), bad eye relief, and bad stance? How about after 20? 30? All day? All week? This soldier is more likely a 46S than an 11B though. Hopefully. Oh, and yeah I know the tag says this is a civilian, but when your country is being invaded, there are no more civilians. Trust me, the Russians don't think so either.
Toss this garbage gun and train with a decent shitty weapon rather than this one, preferably one similar to what you'll actually carry. If this is that one, gods help you. No scope might actually be better since you're not hitting anything anyway once you reach muscle failure after two minutes. Iron sights and good ergo is better than a garbage scope that renders you ineffective. Plus, it's an SKS... you're not hitting anything further than you can shoot over irons anyway.

Gotta love the Tapco stock lol.
Crazy_Ass_Nicky@reddit
That imo is the best stock for the SKS if you want to have a pistol grip with adjustable stock. It looks nice ,and is very comfortable compared to the standard wood stock especially the Chinese ones that were way too short for me lol
goshathegreat@reddit
I have 2 Tapco Interfuse 10/22 stocks, which are identical to the SKS one. I really like the SAW style pistol grip, so much so that I bought 3 of the Tapco SAW AR grips lol. You can also swap other AR stocks with it is also great, I run a B5 Bravo on one and a cheap adjustable cheekpiece stock from a TM22 on the other.
Internet_Troll14@reddit
Is this set up viable in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict??
thisghy@reddit
As an ex infantryman who owned a bubba'd tapco sks. I wouldnt want to carry one of these, okay in a pinch.. but you get like an 8 MOA grouping on a lot of sks' and its not the most ergonomic. Especially those tapco magazines. You would be very hampered by that setup.
Clapbakatyerblakcat@reddit
Not in the trenches.
But during the initial invasion, when the Russian columns stalled on the road, the Ukrainians handed out surplus rifles to civilians and organized Molotov cocktail assembly crews. This SKS would be fine for the insurgency everyone thought the war would become.
No-Reception8659@reddit (OP)
I don’t think so.
Nekommando@reddit
We are at this point when bubba SKS is now considered very based.
No-Reception8659@reddit (OP)
I’m not praising anything, by the way. This is just a picture of another impractical build spotted during the early days of the war, when people were still coming to shooting ranges with whatever they had available.
Nekommando@reddit
Showing up to 2gun with a bubba SKS in 2026 when ARs are this cheap? You did it for the love of the game, which is based.
Brandon_awarea@reddit
SKSs are cheaper in Ukraine. They would still be cheap in the US if you didn’t cut off Russian and Chinese firearms imports entirely.
