How do ya'll feel about this?

Pulled into a bobtailed truckstop and saw it was packed, saw a bobtail in a spot, talked to the dude and we got it adjusted so we could both fit in the spot for our 10 hour resets.
I know it's frowned on for a bobtail to take up a whole spot, but what about 2?
BonusHour8693@reddit
I would much prefer to Bob tails in a spot that shows that people are thinking
Least_Outcome_161@reddit
Whenever I bobtail, I park just before half way in just so the driver that parks next to me has that extra room if they’re coming in with a trailer, doesn’t have to worry more about hitting a truck next to them.
Confident-Ear-9388@reddit
It's definitely easier for a bobtail to find parking than a tractor trailer. But that was awesome to ask another bobtail to share the same space
Struggling-within@reddit
10hr reset what country is this, heard of 24 and 34 hr resets with 10 consecutive hours off after driving 11hrs or on duty for 14hrs. But never a 10hr reset. The 24 hr reset is an oilfield exemption, 34 is the federal standard in the United States. What country does an 10 hr reset?

The only ones who frown on bobtails parking in a truck stop are the ones who are bad at trip planning and showed up too late.
Jamo3306@reddit
I just hey made when they're tucked way in the back. You pairing with another bobtail is PEAK. I just get p-o'ed when there's no regular spots left, but there's room in the bobtail lot.
OTRShaman@reddit
Yeah that’s the most considerate and effective use of the space. I’ve not seen much dedicated bobtail parking. So y’all are using the space as best as possible. Taking one space instead of two.
Largofarburn@reddit
Personally I don’t mind bob tails at all if you park so that the space doesn’t look empty. That’s the only thing that irks me.
I try to do the same when I’ve only got a pup, park at the back of pull through spots at rest areas and whatnot so people don’t get their hopes up then immediately dashed lol.
Just_A_Random_Crow@reddit (OP)
Oh my god agreed, we did back up in this case to each other so it'd be a bit easier for the drivers adjacent to us to get out
GronGrinder@reddit
Did you two touch tires?
Just_A_Random_Crow@reddit (OP)
No but we kissed so it wouldnt be gay

Good, good.

Exactly this. I don’t mind if someone parks bobtail (we’ve all been there) but just don’t hide in the back of a spot. I hate false hope.
ChiTruckDGAF@reddit
I do too but when I parked in the front as a bobtail I got my mirror knocked off.
Caveman23r@reddit
Me and another driver used to do the same thing. His pickup was a hour before mine so I would back into the spot and leave him room. It worked great for us
NJPokerJ@reddit
I've always thought that this is exactly what they should try to do.
Traditional-Range475@reddit
What’s “DEF”?
Responsible-Sail-701@reddit
2 is better than one. At least two spots are not being taken up. Thanks
genocyde26008219@reddit
This is the way
Jacktheforkie@reddit
Two on one spot is fine if both drivers agree
SeaRow556@reddit
I find it as a non issue. But if you are a hotshot or bobtail. Please yield to semitrucks lol. I had a Mexican standoff with a bt at a flying j 2 weeks ago. We both met nose to nose at a fresh empty slot and we sat there for 30 minutes until someone i was infront of needed to head out.

I tried my damndest! Did a whole loop looking for a spot that was hard for a full truck + trailer to get into but found this one instead
Lifeofthedon@reddit
I split my bobtail spot all the time

Should really make an effort to close your door.
Cyanide612@reddit
To me, truck is truck, unless there are tractor spots around that wouldn’t fit a trailer. Props to yall for communicating and working something out and saving space for trailers.
High-In-Potassium@reddit
No problem with it.
Funny story though, I was at a Love's once and backed pretty much all they way up to the curb
Parking-Signature867@reddit
This is acceptable ive even made a sign that says here for 10 leaving at this time if im in an area that has very little parking
JaxAustin@reddit
I need a whiteboard now. Great etiquette.
Exact-Leadership-521@reddit
I park deep into the spot so people get excited and then get closer and see it's occupied. I'll only do the "bobtail" parking if it's not a row of stalls and just a short curb 1 tractor fits along kind thing. Otherwise I take a full spot
Solid_Yak9109@reddit
I would have called the police to have a tow truck tow those trucks away

Is that the owner op logo for the greatest company in the world 😁???
amazingmaple@reddit
So being considerate and helpful to a fellow trucker is coming back like bell bottom pants? /s
Luigi_Dagger@reddit
I feel like bobtails are just as entitled to a spot as a truck and trailer, but people really ought to be mindful of what spaces there are. You and the other guy excelled at bobtail parking
rig53official@reddit
That's the right call. When I'm bobtail at a packed stop I pull all the way to the front of a pull-through so the space behind me reads as open. I think two bobtails sharing one slot is even better tho... easier to pull out clean at 4am when you're not pinned in by a 53-footer.
COATHANGER_ABORTIONS@reddit
Look, parking is parking, and it sucks when I'm bobtail and there's only full spaces left, but I need to park too.
I'll let people share the space but I'm not getting blocked in, lol.
MemeLordShrek@reddit
There’s nothing wrong with a bobtail taking up the spot now if you can find a spot like this and be considerate than amazing but remember the ticket you will get for parking on the streets is the same with or without a trailer you will get a ticket regardless
leadpoem@reddit
When I am forced to park my bus at truck stops. If the spots are pull though I always pull up as far as I can. Half the time I find a van or truck parked behind me. This seems like the same to me.
