Can 9800x3d do something that 7800x3d can't do at qhd 144hz?

I prefer to use my computer for a very long time without replacement, but at least for now, 7800x3d seems to be enough.
I'm going to play a lot of vr games soon, but I heard that cpu accounts for a very small portion of vr games.
I'm going to buy 5070ti or 9070xt for gpu, but Chatgpt told me that gpu will be limited first in vr games.
If you think about the distant future, i can't think of anything other than gta6, but I heard that kind of game is heavily affected by cpu.
For me, the price difference between the two cpu is $235.
Because I'm going to use b650m k for the 7800x3d, and b850m aorus for the 9800x3d.
I've often heard that the performance difference between the two cpu is very small, but when 7800x3d is lacking, will 9800x3d be the same situation?
Even if i upgrade the monitor, it won't deviate much from the current specification.

Well... It is 20%, and in some cases even more, faster. Today, you are not feeling it really, because both are 'more than fast enough'. I think once they become older, the 9800X3D will actually hold up better. Some people say the difference is small, but my guess is that the difference will grow the more CPU intense things become.
So I went with a 9800X3D, and I plan at some point just to change my GPU and be good to go for another bunch or years. But if it's worth a large price increase is another question, the 7800X3D is also a great choice of course.
Why would you use different motherboards for the CPUs?

I've received a lot of comments that it doesn't matter if you use an affordable board for the 7800x3d.
However, 9800x3d had fewer such comments, so I thought using the cheapest board for the best cpu might cause problems

By the time that the 7800X3D isn't fast enough for modern games, the 9800X3D won't be significantly better.

20-30% is still significant I think, if it's worth the price is another question.

This. I've gone with the 7800X3D, it was only $100 difference than the 9800X3D but it's much more efficient. And efficiency is sexy. I'll just see if the last one in AM5 will be worth it to upgrade to, otherwise it's AM6.

AM5 has at least two major refreshes left and zen 7 looks like it will be absolutely insane.

More like AM7.

on QHD/4K there is virtually no difference between the two, nothing anyone would notice anyway, no reason to burn extra $235

If you're playing Counter Strike 2 at esports quality settings on a 240hz QHD monitor, then yes, the 9800X3D will stay above 240 fps at all times and averaging around 800 fps. Where as a 7800X3D you'll have to make do with it sometimes dropping to \~200 fps and still averaging 800 fps. Actually, a little higher since weirdly CS2 performs a little better with Ryzen 7000 than 9000 CPUs in terms of the average FPS.
For more recent games, you're far more likely to be GPU limited at 1440p unless you also play at very low quality settings. And then most games are going to hit GPU limits first. The exceptions would be something like Spacemarine 2 or Jedi Survivor, which are fairly CPU heavy and you might get an extra 10% fps.
For VR, it'll depend on the headset you're using. But unless you're using the original Oculus Rift, you're probably going to be GPU limited there too since the resolution on newer VR headsets is closer to 4k in terms of pixel count. And most VR games are very light on the CPU.

If the 7800x3d performance is 200fps even when the performance of the 7800x3d is low, does it not matter when the monitor is below 200hz?
I understand that fps does not exceed the scan rate of the monitor.
I'm sorry if there is an error in my information.

If u play cs get 9800
