Scarborough Mead Bottles

Hello, I’m going to Scarborough Ren Faire this weekend and was curious if they sell bottles of mead to drink instead of just glasses. Some of my favorite Ren Faire memories come from sharing a bottle of mead with friends but last year when I went I couldn’t find a bottle to purchase just single glasses by themselves.
Does Scarborough sell mead by the bottle, if so where?

Most RenFaires do, but I don't remember it being an option when I was there in the fall for Scarborough Hollow.

I remember about 7-8 years ago I could buy a bottle of mead there but not anymore. Surprisingly World Market is now selling bottles of mead tho

Last time I checked, Breaking Brew in Farmers Branch makes most of the mead sold at Scarby. They sell cans to go if you want some off season.

I think there's also a place in grapevine that makes some of the mead too

Check Spec's. They tend to have a good selection. Check their website, and if it is there they can order it for you in store or deliver it to your door.

Just went last weekend, they do not sell by the bottle only the glass. 2 house mead cups is a bit more than $20. There’s also some higher end ones, my friend got a cup that was 14%

They probably can't. The liquor license for a pub or restaurant is going to be very different from a liquor/package store.

Unrelated to Scarborough, but Sherwood down by Austin will sell you a bottle as long as you have a designated "bottle buddy" with you when you pay for it. What you do with that bottle afterwards is entirely up to you so they must have some loophole figured out

They used to sell bottles out there a very long time ago. Back then I think La Buena Vida Vinyards had the contract. I know, I bought several bottles every time I went. Sadly La Buena Vida Vinyards is no more. Dr. Bobby Smith, the founder and owner, sold it back in 2017, and he passed away three years later in 2020.

Central Market keeps a pretty solid bottled mead selection if you wanna grab a bottle and take home

There is a meadery… meadary sp? northwest of Houston called WildFlyer, that ships. Their bottle Revelation is amazing and hands down my favorite mead I had from the fair.
