According to this article 47 is the age of peak happiness!
edwardturnerlives@reddit
some of us are past it. My 40s have probably been my shittiest decade.
RoastedPickledGoose@reddit
Every day is peak happiness when the next day is worse than the last.
59apache01@reddit
I'm 47 now. Doesn't feel any different than 46 did.
Nuker-79@reddit
I think it just means it goes down hill after 46

I am also 47....I am mildly happier because I got a better job recently, but other than that, it has been pretty mid. It's not as fun as 24, not as miserable as 38.
Narrow_Grapefruit_23@reddit
What happened at 38? I’m being nosey…./
MrCyn@reddit
The Daily Mail has nothing to do with happiness
jtho78@reddit
I was happy until James Corden showed up.
Zerogelite@reddit
Peak happiness, not by a long shot. All I got was colon cancer. Am I happy, yes for the most part
The_OtherGuy_99@reddit
I'm 44.
Better be one hell of a jump.

I've always said that you can find a study that backs up literally any opinion or hypothesis you want.
Study says red wine prolongs life. Study says red wine is destroying your heart. Study says coffee is the key to longevity. Study says coffee is destroying your heart. Study says limit agg consumption for heart health. Study says eat as many eggs as you can for heart health.

Haha...My boss sent me that one today when I told him I was at peak happiness! He is such a dream killer.
alvinofdiaspar@reddit
So it guess it died twice today!
Asleep_Onion@reddit
I'm 43 and I feel like peak happiness was about ten years ago
Alternative-Light514@reddit
I just got tickets to see DJ Shadow a week before my 47th, so hopefully I can parlay that into a good year!
(I don’t gamble, so not entirely sure I used “parlay” correctly lol)
Alorne@reddit
Shit, I’m 48. Just missed it. Nobody tells me anything.
HookerWithaPianist@reddit
Recently got divorced at 48, maybe not peak happiness, but things are looking up for sure!
Lawwife78@reddit
I turned 47 in December, and this is one of the worst/hardest years of my life. If this is peak happiness, please put me out of my misery.
cashews_clay15@reddit
Oh. That did NOT happen to me and now I feel ripped off.
Rubik842@reddit
47 was the year several of my old friends died. It wasn't a good year for me, I guess it was worse for them though.
Deep-Interest9947@reddit
My life has been a hot mess since 41-ish and I’m not about to expect 6 months from now to be different.
TiEmEnTi@reddit
Seventeen was kinda meh, 27 was pretty good, 37 was Covid with infants, still 3 years to go, but 47 does have potential...
Apprehensive_Hat8986@reddit
James Corden isn't the ideal example of happiness that I would strive for. And 47 being peak happiness directly contradicts a post on r/science a few weeks back that said the exact opposite.
unbalancedcentrifuge@reddit (OP)
Maybe it depends on the author...if they judge by my wearing of comfy non-stylish cloths, having geeky hobbies , and staying in to put on comfy pants, popping a schmedible, and watching Severance on a Friday night then a Zoomer might think it is peak unhappiness but a fellow Xennial would recognize the happyiness.
Apprehensive_Hat8986@reddit
A bigger detail is that one was based on a scientific study, and the dailymail is at best an opinion tabloid. These aren't remotely the same.
Adrasteia-One@reddit
I hope that won't be a steep bell curve with the peak being 47. I've heard before that 50s are supposed to be better than even the 40s, so I guess we'll see.
shed1@reddit
I'm 47 this summer, and I'm doing OK, but recently someone said, "you're pushing 50!" I could have lived without that.
Wak3upHicks@reddit
So it's all downhill from here eh?
Count_Emotional@reddit
Can confirm. Staring down 50 and I’m not ready for it.
Li-RM35M4419@reddit
Ha!

I'ma hold you to this!
