Is a 19x a good first pistol?

Looking at a couple Glock 19x options for a first pistol I’m not necessarily looking into it for a concealed carry or an edc but more so for just a range toy/ keep on the nightstand gun. What are your guys opinions on the 19x

I prefer a Grand Power Q1 Mk23 if I'm looking in that market.

I say this as someone down to one Glock:
Good choice. I prefer the 45 to the 19X, just for color. I'd recommend a better trigger, but that's a solid choice for a first pistol. You'll learn what you like and don't like, accessories and upgrades are easy, and 9mm is a great caliber.

g19 is generally considered the gold standard in defensive handguns. long track record of reliability. good choice.

No reason for it to not be a first pistol. Slide is a great length, just make sure the grip length doesn’t feel too long compared to how a g19 feels (then just get a g19). First one won’t be the last one, just get what lols appealing and enjoy.

I would go 19 over 19x for a first one.
19 gives you more leeway in terms of what you can end up doing with it, be it if you decide to concealed carry, or not to.

My 19x MOS with a Silencerco Omega 9k is one of my favorite range toys ❤️.

I'd suggest the Gen 6 45.
45 and 19X are exact same dimensions. However, the Gen 6 does have some really nice features over the Gen 5s. The grip texture is a big difference.

One of the best pistols👍.

Not only is it a good first pistol, it will be one of your best and most versatile ones even as you start to collect others.

The ones they make now are essentially an FDE Glock 45. G45s are black and a little cheaper. You could get a Ruger RXM. Which is a Glock Gen 3 clone that uses Glock slides and magazines. It also has swappable lowers, optics mount and a tritium front sight. Something different would be a s&w m&p. You can get models that have selectable safety. Which is uncommon for Glock.

Not a fan of glocks, but they are the toyota corolla of the gun world. If you arent gonna carry it, you could get something larger

What do you recommend?
Cryptic1911@reddit
Something with a longer barrel, like a 4.5" or 5" barrel. Better sight radius because of the length. Caniks, cz's, etc

It’s great, actually

The 19x was what they took to the MHS trials for military use... I say that's a damn good pistol... 😎

Great pistol. It will serve you well as your first. Glocks do have a very particular grip angle though. Pick one up and make sure it works for you.
