Recently did some washing in rome and was blown away by how much better their washing powder is!
Didn't have time to buy more bags. Anyone know anywhere here that sells italian washing powder?
I only know of Eately for various ingredients.

The formulation for Italian washing powder was the same as UK powder last time I checked. It was often made in the same factory.
If you know the product name perhaps you can buy that mail order but I think it's probably down to the water/machine/ it being sunnier in Italy rather than the powder.

Was it bio? Maybe that’s why?

What was different about it?

I did a quick wash at 30 using a cheap washing powder i got for £3, and it got out all sorts of stains. Here I would need an hour long 40 wash with plenty of vanish stain powder and even then it might need a second go. Smelt nice too.

I wonder if you'll find that the water quality also has an impact.

Or even the machine. Anything new has to be eco friendly and shit.

This was my first thought too.

Have Italian washing powder manufacturers leapfrogged us in technology? 😐

There is an Italian deli that sells household stuff in Streatham. I’m almost sure they sell detergents too. Called Thompson Deli & Baker

Might it not have been a particularly good washing machine you used there?

I know a couple of years ago there was a Spanish washing powder craze so places started stocking it - I don't know how similar it is

Might be the water, parts of the UK have awful hard water which makes a mess of everything. No idea what sort of water Rome has other that wet.
