Urgh, my parents were on some serious health kicks when I was a kid so my cereal mostly came with warm milk with added turmeric. Now, as an adult, it’s cold milk all the way. The crunch is one of the best parts of cereal.

Obviously cold milk for all cereal. No milk if I'm high as a kite at night and needing a popcorn type snack.

The only thing I'm using hot milk for is making hot porridge.

Maybe OP is mistaking cereal for porridge? Or porridge is what they call cereal?
