Last year was hot. Next year will be even hotter.

Europe has recently been delcared the fastest warming continent, including Greenland and the Caucasus, thanks to data from the WMO. Collapse related because around 99% of Europe was hotter than normal for the first time and by gawd I think we'll soon hit 100%.
Unrelated but - I'm done talking about the future too (outside this sub). There is nothing more demoralizing than failing to convince a rational, intelligent person that their climate denial is the dumbest fucking position in modern history. You might as well be talking to a wall.
Its also worth remembering that a lot of "climate deniers" don't actually care either way and just enjoy wasting your time. Be wary of them folks.

Jay Hanson figured out that the human psychological barrier (denial) is impossible to collectively overcome:
"Only physical hardship can force us to rewire our collective-political agendas. I am certainly not the first to make the observation, but now, after 20 years of study and debate, I am totally certain. The “net energy principle” guarantees that our global supply lines will collapse.
The rush to social collapse cannot be stopped no matter what is written or said. Humans have never been able to intentionally-avoid collapse because fundamental system-wide change is only possible after the collapse begins." https://web.archive.org/web/20151206185338/http://www.dieoff.com/

100% we have to wait till our backs are truly against the wall with no more avenues of distraction left to occupy our instant gratification needs.

And attunement, but that’s an idealistic intervention.

And the year after that will be hotter still.

My state (Tasmania) is currently 10C (50F) above the norm. We just broke the record of hottest start to May ever. Great.

I'm from a European country (Serbia), the daily temperature is below 20°C yesterday and today. It'll probably get high as we get to the weekend.

I thought Australia was meant to be the fastest warming continent. Make up your minds.

Actually super cold....... if we're sticking with the true Mugatu meaning. :P

I am wondering how much of this rapidly increasing temperature is due to cars. In the end, cars are stoves converting all the fuel we pour into them into heat within our cities. All the traffic jams are sending heats into our buildings. Probably really cutting down car usage would significantly help.

What can the “deniers” not do or do to prevent the planet heating. I guess if you think there’s nothing, then it’s not worth worrying. Right now you seem to be locked in the anger stage and I can relate. The only place left is the fifth stage, the die is cast and what will be, will be.
