About the final episode..

I don't wanna watch the last episode of these three guys, so it's not over for me. I've watched Clarkson, Hammond, and May since I can remember watching a series.
What are your thoughts about this?
naughtybabydesire@reddit
totally get that feeling
aelliott18@reddit
I’m with you man. I don’t want to accept it’s over and everytime I say i’m gonna watch it I just rewatch the series
CharlieH_@reddit
The final episode managed to capture a little bit of everything that made the guys great. From Top Gear to the Grand Tour specials and everything in between.
You really must watch it.
shiftlocked@reddit
Spot on. I bawled my eyes out at the end (I was going through a lot in life). Feels like the end of an era not just with those three but that sort of non sterile , forced friendship stuff you get on tv.
I’ll say that top gear USA was getting pretty decent in the last couple of seasons
Suspicious_Flower_0@reddit
Sounds a bit sad, but first time I watched it and right at the end, the scene you know I mean, I just smiled and nodded. I grew up with TG from a young teen, it was the perfect way to end it.
Wasn't a tearjerker, just a quiet acknowledgement of all the joy they've brought to millions of people
Gizm082@reddit
It gave me closure. And i started watching all their specials all over from their very first again.
ECUPirate17@reddit
The feeling is one everyone on this sub had watching it. A perfect blend of the humor we all came to love and an emotional goodbye that will leave you in the crying for a month. Like others said, it’s wonderful and a great full circle moment for the holy trio.
HapaCoffee@reddit
One for the Road and Funeral for a Ford are some of the best episodes those three have ever been in. I watch them whenever I want to be reminded about how a good show should end.
the-doctor-is-real@reddit
I was the same and waited like a month or so before watching it...and I enjoyed it. I have gone back and rewatched the whole series of both since and will continue to do so.
Yes, Top Gear and The Grand Tour are over with those three, but don't let potential sadness keep you from enjoying what you know you do like.
o_Divine_o@reddit
That's a shame, the last episode is so rewarding. It doesn't have to end, you can re-watch from the start to end repeatedly.
Furrymcfurface@reddit
Watch from season 1 to the end in a week. Then read or listen to Ben Collins and Andy wilman's books
Rogthgar@reddit
I can't really watch it either, and its unfortunately because they lay it on so thick that its the last one it removes me from what they are doing.
Like in Sandjob they start off with saying how nice it was to be back doing proper GT stuff, even though they likely knew at the time of filming it was the second to last show... but they dont say that, so it still retains the sort of timeless quality the specials have.
hardwood1979@reddit
Honestly I don't understand this thought. It's a TV show, it was always going to end at some point and it was the right time. Its a great episode, feels like a real heartfelt "thankyou for watching" from everyone involved. All the episodes are there to be watched forever, seems crazy to not watch one of the best ones.
AmirBormand@reddit
Great farewell. I am not sure they could have ended it any better. You should watch it.
Soft-Section528@reddit
Just go back and watch Top Gear from the start. It’s what I did.
RJA115@reddit
It’s over whether you watch it or not, one for the road is one of their best specials and you should watch it
jollygoodvelo@reddit
My thoughts are that people doing this need a good slap. They made it for you to watch, dingus. It’s a TV programme not a relative dying.
LordBogus@reddit
I havent watched it yet either. Not because it isnt over, but because that meanse there will always be an episode left to watch
JadeHellbringer@reddit
There's nothing stopping you from going back and watching their older shenanigans any time. I have on a Top Gear right now as I work, in fact.
Grieve not for its end, rejoice that we got as much as we did to begin with.
...but maybe keep a few tissues handy as you watch the end.
InfiniteSun6892@reddit
I usually do a full watch through a few times a year and between that I’ll go back and watch episodes that I loved like their famous races
Ketchup1211@reddit
It’s over for everyone even if you watch the last episode or not. It’s a great farewell to the trio and you’re doing yourself a disservice by not watching it.
gamerpops@reddit
Agreed. There also the “Not Very Grand Tour” if you want to have one chronological last episode to not watch.
Schwartzy94@reddit
Why was that even a thing? And only one episode..
gamerpops@reddit
Filler for Amazon? Everyone loves a clip show?
And only one so far, sans Jeremy.
LrdoftheCharlesDance@reddit
It’s over for the last year and a half.
GhostRiders@reddit
I would say get a life..
Sorry but at the day it is nothing more than a TV show.
hiddensonyvaio@reddit
I’ll kind of play devils advocate here and say I totally get what you’re doing. I’ve done the same for a couple video games haha. I know it’s silly but I watched the final episode as soon as it came out and was in a legitimate funk for several weeks after
Grenaed@reddit
Watch it and cry at the end like the rest of us lol
AllTheBaka@reddit
Then you have watched the last episode haven’t you? Just not that one as your last, also you can watch em whenever u like
Evening-Physics-6185@reddit
Watch it!! it’s probably the best episode they did. Sadly TGT wasn’t that good.i just think by then they’d done everything and the scripting was way over the top and not funny.
Regular_Promise3605@reddit
They ended it in a perfect full circle moment. It is emotional but the overall episode is good
ArtisianWaffle@reddit
The final episode is great and sends them off in a really nice way. And remember it isn't over for them. They all have Youtube channels and/or shows you can watch as well. I know Richard did one recently with his daughter I believe. Or she has as a show he was on? not 100% sure.
rafibomb_explosion@reddit
So you don’t feel alone, I am also guilty of this. Every time I try to queue it up, I find a reason to say not yet.
5innix@reddit
You're not alone, most of us have been watching them for over 20 years. And yes, it's sad that this era is over. But all things end and that's okay.
Jeremy is 66 years old, James is 63, and Hammond is 56. The three of them created one of the most popular entertainment shows of our time (and all time). The body of work they left behind will inspire automotive content creators for years to come. Instead of being sad that they're gone, celebrate what they accomplished and wish them well into their retirement. They've worked hard and they deserve a rest (although none of them are really resting yet).
They left on a high instead of a low. It's the best outcome we could have hoped for.
One for the Road is a love letter to the fans. It was a wonderful way to say goodbye and I think you'd appreciate the closure it gives.
KeyNefariousness6848@reddit
The end is worth it, you’ll cry.
m05hm05h@reddit
On the other hand, I'm stuck on the last episode, whenever I feel like watching an episode, I allways end up rewatching "One for the Road."...
Rafhabs@reddit
This or Mongolia or seamen LMAO
steve0suprem0@reddit
Uñderstandable. It took me like 9 months to watch. I've only done so once. I wept. I might now even. It's some good watching though.
i-m-only-in-for-lolz@reddit
Some things are meant to be over, others simply live on forever. Even if you were to watch the final episode, 2002 Top Gear / The Grand Tour is forever.
It is my entire childhood, it made me discover a passion for everything mechanical and tinkering, ending up studying industrial design. It showed me King Crimson and Aphex Twin way before I knew about anything rock or electronic music.
The trio thought me a lot. Clarkson showed me it's perfectly fine to wear double denim and own a drum set while being an absolute pillock insofar as rhythm goes, as long as you own it. May thought me to shamelessly be an aircraft modeling, long haired dork who simply enjoys things, while Hammond made me realise just how important it is to stand up and be strong, no matter what's going out around. He's got this very peculiar kind of resilience that's hard to come across these days. Also bashing Genesis, hehe
Long story short, the years following the trio has changed all of us, I hope for good. For as long as we're here, it's our duty to carry their legacy, paying respect for all the laughs and dreams and feelings they had brought upon us.
Illeea@reddit
Haven't watched the grand tour but there is a show I haven't watched the last episode of which is Sarah Jane adventures. The main actress died while the episodes were being produced and that affected the quality. I'll watch it one day.
But watch the final episode. They made it for you, to entertain you. It's their goodbye to you. Don't avoid it just so it doesn't feel over.
BartholomewKnightIII@reddit
Watch it, you're missing out by not doing so.
Then do what I do (if you want), rewatch them all again.
