Granted, it’s not exactly a fair comparison at this point: we only have 10 episodes to work with for the KOTH reboot, whereas the new B&B has had 71 episodes to spread its wings and the entire premise of the show had been established from the outset by B&B Do the Universe.

That being said, I think the new B&B is not only the superior of the two reboots but some of the finest work Mike Judge & Co. have ever done. The video reactions regularly have me doubling over from laughter, and the narrative portions have utilized the show’s classic characters and settings in consistently inventive, fresh, and hilarious ways.

The KOTH reboot was enjoyable to binge through, but I rarely find myself itching to rewatch any of S14. I am excited to see what the forthcoming seasons bring, as I think the writers will feel freer to write episodes with more ambitious plots and higher stakes than we have seen thus far, leading to episodes that can stand on par with classics like “Mega-Lo-Dale” and “Ho Yeah!”
