Which city in your country is perhaps the most boring place, where a tourist literally cannot find anything attractive, and what does it look like?
Hot_Taekout@reddit
Regina
Kolyo-Ficheto@reddit
Probably Pleven in Bulgaria
methodinmadness7@reddit
Sliven should be worse in my opinion.
Bobinho4@reddit
Sevlievo enters thr chat. Sliven and Pleven at least have sights :)
Kolyo-Ficheto@reddit
Only passed through there omw to Tarnovo a couple times
Bobinho4@reddit
build them a nice bridge next time (great username)
Kolyo-Ficheto@reddit
he the goat
Particular-Highway89@reddit
All if them in Croatia but probably Karlovac
Antique_Birthday6380@reddit (OP)
All Croatian cities are boring?
Particular-Highway89@reddit
Except Zagreb and Split yes. The coastal cities/towns are fun in the summer tho
Antique_Birthday6380@reddit (OP)
Similar to Albania, more or less, apart from Tirana and Durrës, all cities/towns are dead, except the coastal ones in the summer. Even though we do have some inland cities that are a bit lively year-round (Shkodra, Gjirokastra, Berat, Kruja).
crivycouriac@reddit
Most of them
Familiar-Dig-9778@reddit
Ngl Maribor is unbeatable
CTPABA_KPABA@reddit
is there that many suicides in slovenia because of it?

79mn105ss105a104@reddit
The 1% is Bled
PurpleDrax@reddit
Kumanovo. It's the second largest city now (i think), and there's literally nothing there for anyone to see.
All the other small towns have at least nice old architecture to look at, maybe an attraction.
Kumanovo has nothing. It's literally just a communist block combined with modern shitty buildings. The only good thing it has going for itself is the proximity to Skopje.
Bohemian_Kaiser@reddit
The whole of Montenegro
bangcockinbangkok@reddit
This is true. But only beautiful thing about Montenegro is nature
Bohemian_Kaiser@reddit
Honestly boring isn't bad and nice nature is always great. Let's hope more tourist from EU won't lead to damage
toffi_99@reddit
What's your problem with the EU? When half of the balkan states have applied to join it lol
If anyone's to blame for massive tourism & increased prices in Croatia for example, I'd point to the British
Bohemian_Kaiser@reddit
Easy entry and higher trust in a cheaper country can lead to overtourism. No way the brits make up a notable percentage of tourists in the region. This region has been always dominated by central european tourists.
toffi_99@reddit
Idk how you define central Europe but tourists from Poland for example have been going there since when it was still Yugoslavia. I was in Croatia few days ago and every second tourist was British.
gushi1-@reddit
That the best thing. Life is fast paced, a Turkish coffee and cigarettes and just take it in. Or Raki or Beer, what ever you prefer
papa_CLaude@reddit
Ulqin can be fun
CodExtension6180@reddit
Thats albania

Podgorica 100%
Human-Painting4279@reddit
Fier would be boring if it existed
Miserable_Net694@reddit
Good thing it doesn’t exist tho
Big-Vegetable4550@reddit
Tribunj in Croatia (where I live). Tourists should absolutely not come here - boring as hell and nothing to offer, so stay away in July and August, please. /jk
Repulsive_Work_226@reddit
you have the Anatolian heartland where little happens. conservative places. there is even a movie about that which is a must see:
Once Upon a Time in Anatolia premiered at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, where it was a co-winner of the Grand Prix.
PasicT@reddit
Any city/municipality below 20 000 inhabitants, really.
Istar10n@reddit
Probably the majority of smaller ones. Especially outside Transylvania and not near mountains.
Substratas@reddit
Tirana is the only decent place in Albania, the rest is ultra boring & ghetto.
bipolar1_baby325@reddit
Ghetto? Define ghetto?
Substratas@reddit
I misspoke. They aren’t ghettoes - actually, many cities are visually more beautiful than Tirana.
However, they are boring.
bipolar1_baby325@reddit
Boring yes, not anything resembling ghettos
Antique_Birthday6380@reddit (OP)
The most beautiful things in Albania are the places around Tirana,” a friend of mine from this city used to tell me. Other cities are not that lively as Tirana, yes but they’re not ghettos.
Substratas@reddit
Oh, he was definitely not from Tirana 😂
CTPABA_KPABA@reddit
Subotica
RepresentativeSet340@reddit
Bro, have you ever been to Prijepolje?
CTPABA_KPABA@reddit
no
True-Blacksmith4235@reddit
Subotica is legit so boring
Several_Score_4278@reddit
Mid and east anatolia
Hareholeowner@reddit
Yozgat. We even made q meme for it.
bipolar1_baby325@reddit
Elbasan in Albania
Antique_Birthday6380@reddit (OP)
I think there are other cities that deserve this term more than Elbasan.
bipolar1_baby325@reddit
Too quiet tho but yeah you right
Barbak86@reddit
Hmmm can't decide if Gjilan or Ferizaj
Lucifer_893@reddit
In Romania is probably my home town, Ploiesti. It used to be an industrial powerhouse back in the day, but now it’s just a shadow of what it once was. It’s slowly growing again, but bye bye mega refineries and factories. It’s also in the middle of a plain, no river, no mountain, just a small hill 20 mins drive away, but not much to see, some small vineyards peppered with oil rigs. And it’s also pretty close to the capital, and most young people are leaving there as soon as they finish school. The locals are mostly old folks and gipsies.
Significant-Ad-7182@reddit
We used to meme about Ankara being boring and the most fun activity was hanging out on rooftops like cats.
Inevitable_Motor_685@reddit
Ankara is one of the most active cities in Turkey though?
Significant-Ad-7182@reddit
It is but I think compared to something like İstanbul or İzmir, it's rather boring. Well "I" don't think it's boring, it's just something I remember hearing/reading about.
Early-Show2886@reddit
It depends on what you mean by that. For some, it's boring; for others, it's something else entirely. And what the tourists think, well, I don't really care. They often behave badly anyway.
Downtown_Log_7380@reddit
Prishtina
Jakdublin@reddit
In Bulgaria it might be Pazardzhik where I live. It’s a great place to live, not so busy with some nice restaurants, small parks and all the amenities of a big city but there’s not much for visitors to do. Plovdiv is only 30 minutes away by train and it’s my favourite city but I wouldn’t like to live there because it’s too busy and the traffic is chaotic.
Kolyo-Ficheto@reddit
Probably Petrich in Bulgaria
Lambreff95@reddit
Balkan can be everything else, but not boring.
Beneficial-Collar-36@reddit
Kilkis city in the north, or Thiva in the South.
Ujemegaz@reddit
Why are you even looking for boring cities.
