Dell T340 PERC H330 upgrade H730P

Hello,
i know the Dell T340 is not the newest system, but it’s still in use. The H330 RAID controller is quite slow, so I’m considering replacing it with an H730P.
Is it possible to swap the H330 for an H730P?
My main concern is the backplane. I couldn’t find clear information on whether the T340 backplane used with the H330 is compatible with the H730P.
Thanks.

Is your H330 embedded? If yes you can swap away its the same motherboard socket. I don't know if the cables to the PCIe are the same - they should be as both are 12G SAS.

The original spec PDF for the PowerEdge T340 lists both the H330 and H730P, which means that it could be had from the factory with either one. However, the two models have different internal connectors, so at the very minimum you'll have to replace the backplane-to-controller cable.
To be sure, you can always call Dell Spare Parts and have them quote you the replacement parts needed to install the H730p even if you don't buy it from them.
