ULPT Request. How to justify a 2 year break in career for background search

I left my last company about 2 years ago and decided to start a family so I was outside USA for 4-5 months on 2024-2026 because I was visiting my wife. Can I claim to be a IT consultant in a overseas company to avoid employment gap without getting screwed by verification step? I do have a contact in the company.

Say you were a consultant for Vandaley Industries.

NDA.

You have a pretty solid reason right there? You were out of the country visiting family. Sure 5 months isn't 24 months but they're probably not going to fact check your arrival and departure dates unless you work in a field where you already know they'll dig up this post.

Mental health break to spend time with family. You've been re-energised and could have stayed off longer but liked the look of [role you're applying for] that you thought you'd apply.
I don't even think there's anything Unethical about this.

Why not tell the truth? I was abroad for 2 years.

This copy paste NDA thing people keep saying is so corny, you still need to somewhat justify it you can’t just whip out the 3 letters and call it a day.
An IT-consultant that says he signed an NDA and can’t mention ANY details on what it was, no general field or job function will be clowned for their bullshit excuse and dropped before the interview. NDA’s are often only specifically for detailed work and data regarding a job that can’t be disclosed, not some void in your life you can’t ever mention. Stop believing that crap because recruiters definitely won’t.
