ULPT Request: A guy keeps giving debt collectors my number

I keep getting calls and texts from debt collectors for the same guy. I have his name and address thanks to the most recent call. Unfortunately the only phone number that I can get for him is mine. I know he hasn't had the number as I have had it for over 20 years.

What can I do to extract revenge and also let him know to stop giving out my phone number?

I've heard people say before that if you let them believe you are the debtor, and tell them to go to hell and you won't ever pay them, it might make them take legal action much more quickly.

Just tell any debt collectors that call, they'll never see a penny from you and come see me at this address if you have a problem with that.

Use the debtor's name.

"[Debtor's Name] isn't going to pay you a dime. [Debtor's Name]will...."

I could give examples of various extreme threats you could make, using [Debtor's Name] in every one, but Reddit bots would parse them as me making direct threats to someone here, which is something that has already happened to me.

I made a one word comment that rhymed with Joe Dirt's haircut and got a 6 day ban. I appealed. 7 days later I get an appeal notification that "your ban has been lifted and your comment had been renewed."

Cool glad I got to experience the full punishment for saying a word.

It's also likely that the debt companies got your number from another source, rather than him giving a fake number.

We had this before, they called for the guy from apartment B and we lived in C. They wouldn't believe me when I said that he didn't live there, but when I asked how they got the number, they hung up.

I actually hunted him down on a couple background websites. Those also list my number for him. He has had to told someone that its his number.

Next time that collector calls...ask him to send you a copy of their "do not call policy" This is the first step of a lawsuit and they know it...most will stop calling after that.

I've had fun in the past sending all kinds of religious groups to someone's house in the past as early as they would come. I got a lot to visit. I told one group that "I" (person I was targeting) only spoke Greek and not much English, so they sent some Greek people there. That was entertaining. I set up appointments for survival bunkers installers to go out to his house for an estimate. I signed him up as being able and willing to take basically any kind of animal in distress for temporary housing. Things like giraffes. The last one I did won't woke anymore, but I set up a... fun... party at his house, BYOB, bring your own toga, all are welcome, and holy shit did people show up. I had to stop after that, because that one was way more successful than I thought possible.

You can also make some fake business postcards saying something like it's time to get the hemorrhoid checked, or a friendly notification that they're running a special on dealing with crabs or incontinence or anything, really. Only you put his name on all of them, but you send them to his neighbors.

Ok OP if you’ve got this guys name and address contact the others collectors and give them this guys info but inform that he’s given them the wrong number.

That way they can sue him and if you can you could probably sue him for the stress he’s caused you by giving all these debt collectors your info

Yes had many calls along the same lines, calling asking for Mr A Crook. Tried to tell the caller you are asking for “a crook” just listen to yourself. They did not get it, still receiving calls years later. I just laugh and hang up

You have his name and address. Find out where he hangs out after work/what he does on the weekends. Or just find out what he looks like and find him online. Catfish and get his number either as a friend or conquest. Maybe find out where he works and collect that number, too. Have some fun and get his mom’s number or other family members’ numbers. Proceed to give the numbers ONLY to the debt collectors along with his relationship to them.

Depending on what his online presence is about/his demeanor, you might be able to report him to the IRS or police, too!

After relaying the information to the debt collectors, leave passive aggressive notes on his vehicle. Nothing that could be tied back to you. If you’re feeling froggy you can get joke envelopes online and mail one every time you get a call from a debt collector. They have secondhand sex toy, sex toy subscription, that’s for booking your gay cruise, ones that have glitter that falls out, post cards for STD results, anal bleaching, ball waxing - the world is your oyster!

You could also sue for harassment (hard to prove even if you’ve been documenting all the calls) or get a cease & desist letter sent, but that isn’t unethical.

Just block all numbers not associated with you personal contacts. Check the blocked list occasionally to see if some are worth keeping and add them to your contact list.

As for revenge...there's a bunch of things you could do if you know his address or where he works.

Calls go directly to you, so order hookers OR many different religious groups to show up at his door-step. When they tell him the call came from xxx number, he'll know you ordered it.

I have had this problem for at least 10 years. The person who had my phone number last, must have never paid a bill in their life.

Luckily, it was a woman and I have an obviously man's voice.

I only found one solution, and that was to the gate at her neighborhood. I found out who they were and told management that, going forward, I would indiscriminately let anyone in who wanted in, and my number was promptly removed.
