Gen Joneser here, 1958. I enjoy this sub because I associate with older Gen X more than I do with boomers. My musical tastes can be even more later Gen X. Are there any others like me?

PS, my 3 most listened to stations on Sirius are Lithium, Turbo, and Ozzy’s Boneyard.

Here's the thing. You must also listen to R&B, Hip Hop, EDM, and Techno before we will consider your application.

I missed the X cut off by two months if you look at the current models
Douglas Couplands novel “Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture” was the first reference to X in popular culture and he had X starting immediately after the boomers in 1960.
Not that any of these labels really mean anything ,Whatever

If you’re feeling it, sure, why not. But 7 years puts you firmly in the Boomer demographic. I’m glad you relate to us kids but awkward. I’m a 1970 kid, right down in it. The 12 year spread is like a chasm. Just my opinion.

I was born in 76. My parents were born in 58.
this would be the same as calling my self a millennial.

Well you’re a later Gen X, but earlier ones start in 60’s. You’re 56 this year, not that far when you think about it, I could be your older brother, not that much of a chasm. My oldest sister was born in 1942, now that’s a chasm.

I don’t think you’re helping your argument here.

Guys in Tool, Metallica, and GnR are all in their 60’s now, it’s not that far off for you.

I was born at the end of 63. Boomers were on my nerves even back in the 80s. I relate very, very much better to Gen X. Gen Jones sometimes, but it's very 70s oriented and I was a little kid. I'm on the cusp of generations I guess.

Well, the problem with Boomers in the '80s was Yuppiedom, which was insufferable. Their "Big Chill" obsession was nauseating.

Exactly.

I'm a Boomer. My Boomer aunts and uncles listened to everything from Hank Williams to Grand Funk.
Four siblings, and they're all GenX.
So now it's bookends with Poison and the soundtrack from Grease

Grease stdk was one of the best Foursiders ever released.

GenJones is the way to go. We inherited the best of the Boomers and made our own way into the future. I love '60s and '80s music with equal passion.
