No confirmation on how many where involved or what condition they are in, but 7 News has said 2 people have died and 11 taken to hospital

finished my training there a year ago, knew the instructor on board although not very well, and flew that particular plane (VH-YQP) a handful of times as well. shocked to hear this. hope everyone on the ground was okay, from images it appears that the aircraft crashed into the main hangar for our school.

Tf am I getting down voted for? For wanting to confirm it wasn’t a friend of mine who I wasn’t able to get in contact with without airing it to the public? Damn f me am I right

7-News are reporting: "11 ground crew who were inside the hangar at the time taken to hospital with serious burns" :(

Unconfirmed reports suggest it was VH-YQP, Diamond DA-42.

I'm not sure. Based on Flightrader24 it returned to the FTA (a flight school) hanger.
Aksds@reddit (OP)
From what I understand, that’s the hanger that was hit
BeatlesF1@reddit
Appears to be so. Do you fly out of parafield?
Aksds@reddit (OP)
I had a go at flying from there once as a trial to see if I like it (I did). I’m planning on starting to get my license this or next year.
BeatlesF1@reddit
Nice, it's a good airport.
Flick-tas@reddit
It seems it's been removed from Flightradar24...

you can find it under playback here, not under the callsign:

It very much might be. It's last movement was as 1pm and the crash was reported at 2pm. So definitely plausible.
Flick-tas@reddit
The last flight on Absbexchange was 4:38 UTC = 14:08 ACST, which fits.
BeatlesF1@reddit
Yeah. We here in SA are in a weird timezone of +9:30.
tswifty1991@reddit
Returned into it
BeatlesF1@reddit
It's only a reddit comment. Get a life mate.
tswifty1991@reddit
It means he did return to the hanger direct from upwind rather than a taxi route
BeatlesF1@reddit
Um... Since when?
tswifty1991@reddit
You yqp returned to the fta hanger I'm saying he returned into it (crashed) You wanted clarification I explained he flew from upwind into the hanger. So yeah he is back in the hanger but like... Didn't taxi there flew into it.
BeatlesF1@reddit
1) Well if you read my original comment you could see that I was unsure is YQP was the aircraft involved as it's last flight on flightrader24 was before the crash occurred.
2) Do you seriously think being a smart alec is appropriate right now when 2 people have just died and 11 are injured?

Hangar is the building where planes are stored.
Hanger is something you hang clothes on.

Does https://emergencyapi.com/incidents have more information I saw they stop responding at 9:52pm

Footage of the accident has been revealed (I'm trying to make a post on it right now):

Second crash over there this year
Aksds@reddit (OP)
Yep, the grass had just gotten green from where the last plane crashed. Sad to see the crashes at my local airport, and one I’ve had the luck to take off from once
Inevitable_Shirt_462@reddit
What sort of plane was it?
Able_Act_4653@reddit
DA-42 from a video is saw
Able_Act_4653@reddit
It most likely was VH-YQP from the FR24 data
