U/174 to U/94 adapter creates static when plugged in.

Howdy, I recently bought a Earmor M32x headset for my job working on aircraft (B707 series acft). I have been loving them and would like to keep using them but when I need to hook up to the aircraft (standard NATO jack) to communicate with the pilots I can hear them but am unable to speak to them (nothing, no static just silence on the listen back system). I recently bought an adapter (Random amazon 174 to 94 adapter) but now when I use the PTT it starts to create like a static sine wave noise. I would like to keep these as they are very nice as compared to industry standards like David Clark's (no hate, just like compactness). I have been talking to some friends with similar issues with non standard aviation headsets and they say it may be an impedence issue?
Any input or personal experience with this is appreciated.
(also I think this is the right sub for this but if not I'm happy for recommendations for others.)

Yes, an impedance mismatch is a very common problem when it comes to trying to hodgepodge audio equipment together. The "M32X" looks to be a low drag high speed pew pew operator gear rather than aircraft avionics gear.
It is likely the headphones and/or mic are the wrong impedance (impedance is like resistance, but in the context of AC circuits). Unfortunately it's difficult/impossible to go from high to low impedance or vice versa "passively" (meaning without some kind of powered circuit).
Without knowing the specs of that particular "B707 series aircraft's intercom nobody can be of much help. Have you talked to your squadron/wing avionics shop?

Yeah I know its kinda dumb looking, but I have a lot of tight spaces where DC's get caught on everything. These are kinda cheaper than DC's and way cheaper than peltors so I figured I'd ask. Also the air frame is an upgraded model B707. The connectors inside say U94/A so that's why I'd thought it likely be just a simple impedance issue but I was just seeing if there was some other random odd ball chance that someone may have the same issue, with a better solution.

Your best bet would be to talk to someone who works avionics. You -might- have some better luck in r/aviationmaintenance
