Windows11 home

The PC components I purchased are not compatible with Windows 11. Should I buy Windows 10 or Windows 11? By the way, I know there is a way to install Windows 10 on a Windows 11 system.

What are the components? Are they not meeting the min requirements? if so just install Win10 and select extend security updates, if you can.

I didn't know you could do this. i thought support was done for those that aren't part of organizations that pay

It was extended for free when Win10 hit the EOL. It may still be available.

god I hate the new requirements

Same, I will keep Win10 on my Photoshop/creative workstation which rarely goes online, and for my daily driver I use a Macbook at home and Linux in the studio.
I am moving away from Microsoft, the problem with Mac O/S is they are now introducing Age Verification just to install the OS. I don't trust any third party with my sensitive personal data, they will mess up and compromise security at some point.

you use davinci on the linux machine? you can edit photos on davinci now. nearly every company is just getting more restrictive and predatory. its like soon there may be nowhere to run.

ASUS H81M-E i7 4790K DDR3 8×2 3060 Ti Is this information sufficient?

That can still work with 11 if you skip the requirements checks, easiest way is making your installer USB through Rufus https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+install+Windows+11+on+unsupported+devices/160527
If you don't want to do that, next best (or arguably first best) would be not using Windows, give Linux a try (or something else :)
Would recommend against doing 10 as even if you're eligible for the one year extended support that still runs out on October 13th.
