something something the rich, then distribute it
haram_halal@reddit
I heard there was this strange french wood construction once, that somehow seemed to help with redistribution too, maybe if some archeologist could help to get some blueprints ?
It supposedly was quite effective in terms of environmental friendliness (carbon neutral) in construction and use, and apparently even more so regarding EROI, shit went through the roof with the return part.
Just hear say, though.
kea1981@reddit
Huh. I'm hungry for some of that censored soup, personally. I mean, not actually. Prion diseases are no joke! Be careful out there, folks.
Empty-Equipment9273@reddit
We probably don’t even have another 5 years at this stage
Drone314@reddit
2028/2030 politically, 2060-2080 environmentally

Oh collapse Will take a little bit longer than you think. I give it at least 10 before everything starts to just fall apart
Scoopie@reddit
It started awhile ago. It won't come all at once.
me-need-more-brain@reddit
Just look at the infrastructure and lack of investment (globally !!!) and you can see things are already literally falling apart.
i never made a driver licence because a) i´m a tree hugger and b) could affoprd not to, due to exceptionally good tpublic transport in berlin, germany.
It crumbles slowly since 20 years, but the last two were the worst, when i couldn´t even tell when, or wether at all i would reach my job.
i had several days last year, where commute took 4 instead of 2 hours daily, putting a shit ton of stress onto the family too, these are lost hours. Some days i called in sick, because a single way to work would have taken 3 fucking hours in a first world country to get to work.
When these failures inevotably pile up, you´ll have the "visible" collapse movie style, but it´s already here, just more local so far and there is still enough shit working to get around those failures.
errie_tholluxe@reddit
Yeah, but I think total societal collapse in the United States at least will take at least 10 years simply because we're so goddamn big. Places like India and Africa I can see them falling apart in the next 5 years no problem
thehourglasses@reddit
Not when we have multiple simultaneous breadbasket failures on deck. No one produces their own food, and when the stores become empty, all bets are off.
ApoptosisPending@reddit
Well at least we all can vent on this Reddit. Little things.

Awesome, 4000 to be butchered, marinated, seasoned and consumed. If it's self defense after all.

If 3.5% of the people from the richest states in the richest economy of the world were to go on strike for an unspecified amount of time until their demands were met, things would change.
Low_Complex_9841@reddit
I guess those 3.5% like their position way too much for doing such silly thing ...but real life sometimes surprizes everyone!
zedroj@reddit
ya, nothing is part of it, not having children
Sea-Word-4970@reddit
There is only socialist revolution
Spec187@reddit
So you're saying I have a chance?
Low_Complex_9841@reddit
I also wanted to note that even richest of them (Musc) can't simply buy $100B space development program...without expecting same/bigger profit somewhere down the line. So, even if those xxx billionaries join forces they still only worth of around 18 years of US military budget (where THIS amount of money go?). So private space (as in building Big structures out there) suddenly does not look like that big .... And they already sucked everyone dry and then speculated some!
"communism by 1980!" (isn't safe 350 ppm level of co2 in our atmosphere was last time in 1985 or so? I only started to hear about 360.org in 2010 or so ...was aware about related energy problem since early 2000s - but in 1985 or 1991 I was like 9 at most! weak excuse ....) in retro view looking like goal what was worth pushing - so at least in this case you had some Plan how to wind down fossil fuel use, wind up space solar energy use :) But ..we failed. Chased "better life", get sucky now and worse future.
homebrew_1@reddit
Need to give them more tax cuts. /s
ideleteoften@reddit
Coincidentally, millions more will fall deeper into poverty.
ambelamba@reddit
How many of them are purely cash rich? The whole wealth thing feels like smoke and mirrors
ideleteoften@reddit
Another one duped into thinking that because Jeff Bezos doesn't have 100 billion dollars cash in a Srooge McDuck vault, he's not actually wealthy and people should leave him alone.
People have been kept so poorly educated that not only do they fail to comprehend the sheer scale of billions, they also fail to understand how wealth works when you're thousands of snack brackets above W2 employment.
Empty-Equipment9273@reddit
Usually I believe 10-20 times less than their estimated net worth because companies trade at multiples of value
Their still extremely ridiculously rich just not as much you are led to believe
It’s because it assumes that this is how much they would receive if their companies were sold
Hurlyburly766@reddit
Plot twist, they are still living paycheck to psyched due to rising cost of everything.

If we let this happen we'll deserve what they'll do to us. We could reduce that number to 0 at any time between now and then lol.
GardenScared8153@reddit
You too could be a billionaire one day, you just need to hustle peasant. You are merely not working hard enough . /s
Quercus408@reddit
I feel like that could be a more manageable number. Like zero.
ttystikk@reddit
Oh that's just what the world needs...
kaptainkooleio@reddit
lol, with inflation that number could be much much much higher

H̶i̶g̶h̶l̶i̶g̶h̶t̶s̶ Lowlights from the World Inequality Report 2026
The top 10% of the global population’s income-earners earn more than the remaining 90%, while the poorest half of the global population captures less than 10% of the total global income. Wealth is even more concentrated: the top 10% own three-quarters of global wealth, while the bottom half holds only 2%.

WastelandEnjoyer@reddit
Most of these valuations are inflated numbers and some serious trickery. While I'm not excusing/downplaying billionaires, there are probably fewer true billionaires than whats accepted. Forbes and other outlets that track these sorts of things are also big time marketing machines above all.
Take away market perceptions and equities of these companies and there's way less real world movable leverage than what 18.3tn would provide.
PatrolMan2129@reddit
Could hit a few hundred million when the usd spiral out of control in inflation and a burger costs a million bucks.
