1 43yo
Tack-One@reddit
Same nearly 48.
Rdubya291@reddit
Same here. Maybe a 1.25.
neon_farts@reddit
Same. My hair is starting to turn a stark white but I’m going to keep all of it. The eyebrows though, are going to be paddle boards sticking out of my face
Hammerhandle@reddit
1 here too. My problem is the absolute fucking shrubbery growing out of my ears.
Tylerdurden389@reddit
Get one of those pocket size mirrors thats 4 small mirrors on hinges (kinda looks like a small accordion). This way you can see your eats from the side and get trimming/tweezing.
Fenrirs-Fang@reddit
I can relate. Ugh.
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
And my nose....soooo much hair, which coupled with allergies means a trimmer sees liberal use...
If I could only transplant my body hair to my head id have more than enough for several full heads of hair
(Seriously a male nurse said this to me "I'm not being funny here pal, but I thought I was hairy, Christ your something else" - where my forearm skin is barely visible through the hair and all due to my mother's side of the family (despite her stringent denials) having greek, Spanish or Italian DNA strongly going on due to all the dark curly hair and the men on her side are ALL seriously hairy. Like I'm at robin Williams level of hairy, where I think Koko would have had the same reaction to me as she did when she met robin)
NorskKiwi@reddit
I hate that too 😆
Tylerdurden389@reddit
I've always had thick brows even as a kid. Get used to using tweezers, and also buy one of those small, ambidextrous scissors for trimming once a week (just comb the brows towards the middle and snip all the super long hairs sticking up/out). Trust me, it'll make them look ALOT thinner.
Bearded_Pip@reddit
1 and I’m 50. My mother’s dad died with a full head of hair so I’m set.
ColonClenseByFire@reddit
Same, might be a few grays in there but not many. Hair is the only thing I have left.
spaceporter@reddit
Same. I also have almost no gray hairs. They’re few enough that I could pluck them if I cared at all.
n0exit@reddit
I started going grey in my 20s, but the hairline hasn't budged.
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
I went to high school with a guy who was severe salt and pepper before 15, being 6 odd feet tall then meant he had no issue being served in bars lol...
PilotC150@reddit
Same for me.
The beard went gray a couple years ago, at least the sides of it. I blame the kids.
The gray is starting to work its way on top, but only scattered around.
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
Being an unpaid carer for my wife has had the same effect on me, the stress shows in my face and my hair, from a distance it's not so bad but close up pics....I look utterly and totally exhausted and.....old
Jermine1269@reddit
Kids, right?!?!?
I got 1 big streak of white in my beard when I had my first kid at 32.
2nd big streak when I had my 2nd kid at 35.
The middle streak happened while I was getting my 2nd bachelor's at 38.
And NOW... We've had our surprise 3rd and I'm 42. I'm expecting my beard will look like Sean Connery's in Last Crusade within a year.
Dandruff83@reddit
Same. 43 and 3 daughters. Hair is still number 1 and black (with some grey hairs), but my beard is almost turning white. Chin is white and cheaks turn darker moving back to my ears.
Asleep_Onion@reddit
Same, but salt and pepper AF
Stratospheric-Ferret@reddit
I looked in the mirror with good lighting the other day, I was shocked just how grey I've gone.
When I look at pictures from early-mid 20s my hair was black.
I'll take #1 and grey instead of #7 and still dark though.
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
My dad is at 2 (66 years old), his hair has gone form neon carrot orange as a kid (like way intense ginger, which he had until his mid 20s) to a washed out / faded ginger meets blonde (age, greying, smoking, working with chemicals in an industrial environment)
Jdevers77@reddit
Same, 48. Maybe 5% grey though, that just started 2 years ago and is accelerating so I imagine it will be completely grey by 55. Shitloads of hair though.
weyoun_clone@reddit
41 yo and same. I wear it long a bit past my shoulders as well.
Haven’t noticed any thinning, but the temples are pretty grey.
Negative-Driver-3135@reddit
1 46yo reporting in. I reckon they could still put me in tv if that was a thing.
One_Mission9448@reddit
1 46yo. But I’m on the pecia
mickeltee@reddit
Also a 1 and it’s still basically that dark, and I’ll be 48 in a couple months.
Lughaidh_@reddit
Yeah, I’m pretty squarely in 1 at 44 years old. Growing it out currently, figured I should take advantage of it.
Dandruff83@reddit
Same. 43 and in 1. greyish temples and grown out with thick curls. Love my hair at the moment hehe. Beard is almost white on my chin and I blame my daughters for that one.
GrunchWeefer@reddit
You lucky piece of shit I hate you
UnderH20giraffe@reddit
Same. And my 82 year old dad is close to the same, though his hair is white and much thinner.
ThrowAWeigh543@reddit
My grandpa’s and uncle’s all kept their hair until death, with a bit of thinning but nothing major. Dad got gangrene when he was in his early 20’s, he blamed that for the early hair loss.
LackingUtility@reddit
Yep. Going grey at the temples (and looking like a sexy silver fox), but it's all still there.
My brother started going bald at 23, and was fully gone by 30, so I tease him about it every chance I get.
PM_ME_UR_KITTY_CAT@reddit
Are you me?
Prestigious-Bike7880@reddit
Im a solid 2
No_Ratio1493@reddit
I’m a solid 4. It sucks because I don’t see it when I look in the mirror, so I sort have an illusion that I’m not balding. The gray and white beard makes up for that though.
shalegac@reddit
1 and 4.
the_Mont81@reddit
I’m a five at 44 YO, developed a bald spot around 23 YO. Usually keep it buzzed (1.5 on sides, 2 on top), although I let it go during Covid.
cmh_ender@reddit
5... looking at transplant options, but they want like $12,000
Minimag2125@reddit
1.5
Roland-Of-Eld-19@reddit
2½
Nickbou@reddit
Same. I’m taking steps to maintain, but if it ever gets past 4 I’m going straight to 8 (full buzzed or shaved).
El_Dudereno@reddit
Finasteride + Minoxidil and a prayer.
Whole_Engineer_3757@reddit
This dude at work takes that. He grew back a considerable amount of hair. I want to say he's restored his hairline but overall his hair is very thin.
I would just shave my head. It doesn't look bad but not worth being on meds indefinitely for that result.
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
My wife suggested one of those "hair units"
(basically "not your grandads toupee" hairpiece, where it's matched to your own hair colour, atrached to your scalp with a strong adhesive and you go in to have it cleaned and restyled as you would go to the barbers shop)
saw them on tv over 15 years ago, guy at the start of the show was a hairdresser and it was quickly revealed that the "hair" on top of his head was actually a "hair unit", where you couldn't tell it wasn't his actual hair, company who did the maintaince were a salon who specialised in this on top of regular hairdressing, she sprayed it with something to break the glue bond, peeled it off, washed it, set it aside to dry, cleaned his scalp, dried the hair unit, reattached it and restyled it.
He said it was no different to a woman colouring their hair, that for him it was a confidence thing where he felt more himself.
As a woman wrote somewhere (I forget where) recently, that when a woman goes bald and buys a wig,.she gets sympathy but men instead are treated as objects of derision and mocked for being "vain" and she took exception to that and called out the everyday sexism involved in it.
However.....i honestly don't know if I would feel "silly" or whether my wallet would feel like I was wasting money.....
BasvanS@reddit
What? And skip the combover?
Roland-Of-Eld-19@reddit
Oh yeah man, once it gets to 4 its game over
Emannuelle-in-space@reddit
I’m same and happy with it. Had long hair for decades and cut it short recently.. the short hair fits the 2.5 way better than long hair.
neodraykl@reddit
2.5 club checking in as well.
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
I know! I tried at my wife's urging to grow it out for the first time in years and it looked AWFUL, even she had to grudgingly admit when I cropped it that it looked WAY better short than long (she has a thing for the whole long haired guy with arm muscles going on, then again mine is short, petite chicks - the whole slight elfen build, the dark haired one from tatu as an example )
left_handyman@reddit
May it do ya fine.
ChickenDelight@reddit
I've got a more aggressive version of 3 and I'm digging it. I get to rock a semi-Mohawk in business meetings.
TragicHedgehog@reddit
I miss my mowhawk. I miss the 90s…
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
Guy near me when I was a young fella in the late 80s/early 90s had blue "liberty spikes", always thought they were the height of cool, my mom did NOT agree (and living with her and my old man was akin to being incarcerated / living with religious fundamentalists....
Into-the-stream@reddit
Honestly 3 can actually be pretty attractive on a guy. After 4 though it’s time for the clippers.

Tylerdurden389@reddit
4.5, but no brow receding, just the back is going/gone. Only public place I dont wear a hat now is if i'm at the gym at 5am.
Fawners@reddit
Husband is 41-and a 6 and VERY unhappy about it
mblaser@reddit
Oh man, it's great. I've been a 6.5 since about 28 (47 now) so I started shaving/buzzing my hair at that time and it's wonderful not having to style it or go get it cut every few weeks. I wish I had started doing it 10 years earlier. Tell him to look at the bright side of it like that.
lethargy86@reddit
I got so bad I started shaving it off at 28. Just show him r/bald. It's time.
KdawgEdog@reddit
I am 43 and shaved it all off 6 months ago. I got a good confidence boost in r/bald
Fawners@reddit
I tell him all the time, he's sexy af. Handsome, great fit body, beautiful straight teeth, like, you can't have it all, man. He has a good shaped head, so he looks very attractive even without hair. He deployed a bunch to Iraq so he always had a shaved head, in the service anyway. He just dreams of thicker hair on top.
LSTmyLife@reddit
I had a friend who shaved his his since high-school. He had good hair but he shaved it for the swim team and just kept it off for the last twenty years. During covid he decided to let it grow out and discovered he was balding amd didnt take it well. I thought it was hilarious he cared considering he spent half his life bald anyways. Turns out losing the freedom of choice ruined it for him. Hes still not over it.
FeatureCreeep@reddit
I’m a 5 and it’s getting worse. I follow r/bald. I fear that the people that look amazing shaved get a lot of upvotes so they are seen. I’m convinced I would not look as amazing as everyone else on there bald. Probably don’t have much of a choice though then to find out.

I don’t understand how men don’t get that Jim Walsh (BH90210) was fucking hot.
probablyatargaryen@reddit
Now you got me wondering if tv dads of the 80s/90s are why I’ve always found this look hot
Narrow_Grapefruit_23@reddit
Yes. Take another look at Mr. Matthews boy meets world. And also Al Bundy.
0dayssince@reddit
He absolutely was not.

Just_Another_AI@reddit
I've long said that if it's good enough for Captain Picard, it's good enough for me!
HalfFrozenSpeedos@reddit
Captain Jean Luc Dickhard (I'm thinking Patrick Stewart does a send up, where the character is a mashup of Picard and Stans boss from American Dad.....that would just be the height of fucking awesome frankly)
Though Picard was my captain and his approach and morals have shaped my own throughout my life, where it's always been a reminder that we can and should be better, that bad actors will always be there claiming to be righteous (Norah Satie) and that vigilance is the price of freedom....
(So Theocratic war criminal Ben Sisko of DS9 was both jarring and discongruous with everything that had come before in trek, including Kirk being blunt and clear that mankind had long ago left behind superstition and theocracy)
thyleullar@reddit
I have also said this for years!
lurkylurkeroo@reddit
Isn't that a sign of high testosterone?
(Good high, not see-a-doctor high.)
SeaSkimmer2@reddit
Or bad genes. It was known to alternate on my dad’s side, and I have the proof going back to a family portrait of my great-great grandfather with my ~teenage great-grandfather. At least my brother and I are doing our part to make that lineage cease. 😄

Substantial_Rise3318@reddit
I don't know I shave it off
ezmoney98@reddit
If you're going to be bald , might as well be all the way bald.
Exciting-Argument-67@reddit
Nope. Most white men, especially, do not look good bald. This is a myth you all tell yourselves. My husband "request" that I never cut my hair really short, and I've "requested" that he never shave his head, no matter how thin it's getting. Because I know he doesn't have the skull shape for it, and I look forward to his "silver fox" phase.
Bearded_Pip@reddit
Bald is better than 5-7.
Particular-Village91@reddit
I was deep into the 5s by my early 30s, and off it all went. Looks 1000% better this way
SemicolonGuitars@reddit
This is the way.

MrCrash@reddit

Probably a 4.5. 48 years old. More just thin than bald spots.
Late-External3249@reddit
1.5 but I have always had a widow's peak. I come from a long line of bald dudes on my dad's side but the men on my mom's side all kept their hair. So I guess there is some truth to that gene coming from the maternal line.

Been shaving my head since Bush was in office. My razors don’t dull quickly either if you catch my drift.

On the bright side, zero gray hairs at 45.
Apprehensive_Map64@reddit
Between 1&2 with a bit of thinning on the bald spot. Oddly enough the bald spot was thinner ten years ago than it is now. Still not a single gray hair as of yet. My grandfather's native American blood to thank for that
