Woke Up From 2018, Is AMD Ryzen 5 5600 and Radeon RX 7600 a Good Budget Upgrade?

I'm not too well versed on PCs, I budget built from scratch in 2018 for around $8-900. Woke up from under my rock to today to what feels like a nightmare with the price of everything. Is AMD Ryzen 5 5600 and Radeon RX 7600 a good budget upgrade from my existing? I can get the Ryzen 5600 for $161 with shipping and the RX 7600 for $231 open box or $279 new, +tax, so maybe $400-450 total. I'm looking to extend the life of this build a little bit. I mainly internet browse and play lower demand PC games. Though MS Flight Sim 2024 is what's driving this upgrade. If I ever play higher demand games, I usually just run lower settings.
Specs:
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 2600
GPU Radeon RX 580 Series 8GB
RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200
Motherboard ASRock B450M Pro4
Storage 500GB Samsung 860 EVO (SATA SSD)
PSU EVGA 650 BR (650W, 80+ Bronze)

Get a 9060xt 16gb and play hard

Your B450 board supports Ryzen 5000 series with a BIOS update, so the 5600 is a clean drop-in upgrade and a meaningful step up from the 2600 for MSFS 2024 which is notoriously CPU demanding.
The RX 7600 8GB is the weak point in this plan. MSFS 2024 is one of the most VRAM hungry titles available and 8GB gets tight fast, especially at higher settings or resolutions. For the same or slightly more money the RX 6700 XT gives you 12GB and stronger overall performance, which serves MSFS much better over a 5-6 year horizon.
The 5600 plus a used RX 6700 XT lands around $400-450 total and is a more balanced upgrade for your use case. I'd check https://best-gpu.com to compare current pricing on both GPU options before deciding.

5600 is fine as cpu, but 160 is a steap price for it.
7600 is a bit shitty for that price. Dont know where you live, but would advise to look for either better deals or second hand.
Amd will be re-releasing the 5800x3d which should open up the am4 market a bit.
So in general 5600 and 7600 is a good upgrade over your current system, but the prices are not so good.
Maybe worth the wait for 5800x3d release

Get a 5600/X and best GPU you can afford. That’s your best option short term.

You should be able to find a 5700 or 5800 for that price, depending your workload the extra cores are nice

honestly this all depends on budget but i'd say getting it to 32gb ddr4, 5600 and a solid GPU is a good play. 6700xt could be another solid option given the fact that its got 12gb of vram, but i am not an AMD expert, the reddit folks can chime in on that aspect. but yeah 5600x or 5600 with 32gb of ram (so extra 16gb) will have you on your way.

Yeah that's like a 100% upgrade on both. If it were me I'd try to get a used rtx 3070 but if you wanna go new the rx 7600 is a solid 1080p card. Ryzen 5600 price sounds about 20 bucks too high but I honestly don't know current prices. I bought one about 2 years ago.

I would go for a 6700xt for the larger amount of vram, as it can be had for around 220 used. You could also get a 3070 for around 250 used which will definitely be a great upgrade.

I think the 5600 is the budget sweet spot. You can also look for a 5500x3D. It sounds highly likely the 5800x3D will have some limited rerelease, but my guess is it will be $299.

I highly recommend trying Facebook marketplace if your okay buying used. Depending on you area you can save a ton getting a 5600x or 5700x for less than 100. And there’s tons of comparable and similar gpus. But upgrading to a RX 7600 and a 5600 is a solid plan and you will see a very noticeable upgrade in performance.

I'll let someone else take the wheel on the best GPU for you.
But as far as CPUs go, the 5800X3D will be re-released sometime this year, so if you pick one of those up at MSRP, you'll have the best in slot CPU for your rig, and it'll last you several years of quality gaming.
after the CPU/GPU, I'd get another two sticks of the same speed ram you already have to bring you to 32gb, and you'll be golden.
